I don't understand how y'all see it as him having ASD
He doesn't have any of the communication challenges that are a big part of autism
He prob has hypersensitivity and social anxiety but he doesn't have enough symptoms for it to be actual autism

I feel like two things can be true at once. I can see why people would say ASD and your reasoning as well but I feel like the author made the potential other reasonings first why he is the way that he is vague on purpose. it gets people talking about and considering real life diagnoses that could easily fall into the manga's hsp diagnosis. literature is subjective that way, but i don't agree nor disagree with you, I just found your comment thought provoking is all
My experience is really similar to chapter 8, the difference is that I've only been diagnosed w asd recently and my dad prob has some sort of adhd or asd. In recent years we started to understand each other more and our relationship became less toxic
Finally content of the actual main characters without the sexual assaulter/harasser
It's so nice seeing actual autistic characters in manga, even if it's not said literally, it's comforting having a character be similar to you with the same condition
I like the realism of Kobayashi having ADD and learning disability
I actually really like the characters' relationship but I also think this manga could've worked as a coming of age without romance
