honestly this is one of those plotlines that the more upsettingly distressing it gets the more weirdly amazing it gets. bc it's like, upsetting in a very like "yeah this fits" way like "this makes sense that they go through this shit" like i'm not surprised, it just adds to denji's distressing lore in a pretty natural way.
