god i love how it feels like no matter how much i read about roxanne, you still can't get a solid understanding of her. you get her baseline ethics and perspective, but everything else feels so blank like!! man i rlly can't figure out what she's thinking

lukewarm_oj February 22, 2021 12:43 pm

??? all the streamers' comments taking a shit on him for talking about his mom are so infuriating??? like calling him selfish bc of it like lol he can do whatever he wants, and if revenge + his mom is his reason, then that it is. like what's he gonna do? make up smth else lmao. at least the results of his reasonings actually indirectly help yall out.

like really if it wasnt for him, they would all be dead by now

im kinda curious if MC rlly did kill hakan with the mind to gain xp. not judging, i'm just wondering, because ribe accused him of it twice, and tbh, MC did not deny it at all, not even in his thoughts. and if anything, the way he kept trying to convince himself this was a game, told me he might've actually subconsciously thought that, even though at first i felt like he killed him just to "be sure," and not for the xp.

also. ribe really bothers me, and she has a 'holier-than-thou' complex at times, but honestly, i think she's just one of those necessary characters for the author to show certain themes that he can't pile onto our MC without making him annoying. like not everyones' going to have a similar personality/perspective on life, and i think you kinda need disagreeable characters (like the plant girl, too) to reflect what it's like living in a gamelike world from a certain perspective that our protagonist himself can't show, since his personality/situation is different from theirs.

I don't think he killed him for XP. He just killed him because he was the one who destroyed that village and spread that corruption.

Ribe saying he killed for XP doesn't make it true. I think she was just saying it to give him a verbal punch in the face. The way he killed Abel bothered her, but she didn't know that she was in a group of slavers that tried to enslave him when he first got there and he had to clear out those that they had caught. So her being so judgemental about him killing her so thoroughly, and this is after he saw her be decapitated mind you, is infuriating.

Now him trying to keep his sanity by saying it's just a game is realistic. If you kill someone you try to reconcile it within yourself that you had to, he's in a game so of course he would rationalize it that way.

I think the reason why he doesn't like or respect Ribe is because he saw how she treated the elf guy. She took his stuff and sold it, then she kept ditching him when it was dangerous. She was scamming the guy at every opportunity and when she was called out for she was like she didn't want him to follow her around so she felt like he deserved it. She honestly doesn't have a right to act holier than thou when our MC is having a mental break down because she didn't even care enough to ask what his experiences were like in the game. I mean he was mugged, then watched a guy die trying to save him, got picked up by slavers. That was all in the first month he was there. And she truly isn't any better than the muggers or the slavers, she's scam artist.

Finally some reasonable people here. It's obvious the mc is having a hard time mentally because he has to repeat to himself that it's just a game. Also how are ppl mad the mc has a "privledged" life?? Honestly everyone is born at a different starting point and getting mad at someone for not suffering is evil itself so I'm on the mcs side in all of this. I like the white haired dude too and the elf guy didn't stick out to me at all to affect me

imma be real here, spirit king is becoming my fave character *real* fast. like he really woke up and chose violence today. idk maybe it's bc i really love god-complex characters who aren't complete assholes and instead use their op traits to just stir up shit, but i really love his personality so far. he's hilarious.

lukewarm_oj February 19, 2021 1:30 pm

LMAO kang hwi being kang hwi is honestly one of the best things ever. and kang kibon's relationship with him and his team honestly makes me go :). like awe, yes, make good relationships after having years of just being alone lol.

also i love the prime minister? she's out here dressed classy yet a total baddie. also she really gets shit done despite everything on her plate, like, wow the mc might be op, but she has better control with all the power she has than he'll ever.

lukewarm_oj February 19, 2021 1:22 pm

this is actually so fucking funny im-
like??? the secret move of windmill beating someone to death?? the useless god mildly cursing the mc to the side while not making a single change in her facial expression??? the grandfather reviving and being utterly irresponsible?? the awful allocation of stat points??? love that

lukewarm_oj February 17, 2021 12:26 pm

something about this man and his slow and unconventional grinding and monopolising of first-kills/drops with his equally unconventional game avatar reminds me a bit of ye xiu and his Lord Grim from king's avatar, even if these two MCs have completely different personalities and overall gaming strategies.

    Bee.__. February 17, 2021 4:09 pm

    Yeah....the personalities totally different

lukewarm_oj February 17, 2021 11:48 am

honestly this goes so hard? like i just love how both worlds are super balanced. i feel like i haven't read lots of stories that involve two vastly different settings where i personally felt like they were both evenly balanced, where one doesn't feel less anticipatory than the other.

bruhh im slow so im just realising this now after dora asked why sui was so proud of their name. but 'sui' sounds exactly like 'water' in chinese, and im pretty sure in japanese it's the same too. did mc literally name the slime "water"safjkldfjs

    Skim February 19, 2021 5:01 pm

Yup. The MC has some bad sense in naming things...he was even going to name Feru, Pochi in the beginning...smh....the names of his familiars are Feru the Fenrir, Dora the Dragon or Doragon in Japanese pronunciation, and Sui the Slime, which I'm assuming it's because he looks like a drop of water....*shrug*
