I think I totally understand the confusion about his feelings with Rishar and cannot communicate stuff we should remember that he was alone for most of his life never really had someone to love him romantically or parentally so he don't really know what's the difference... He is emotionally constipated, and starved. He is manipulated by his mother and etc. So I would understand why Etienne can't sort his feelings yet... I think he calls him little brother still is because they never really had romantic stuff up until when Rishar came back? plus they were childhood playmates and Rishar had to go away so he never had developed romantic feeling to Rishar up until he comes back so he is still confused on whether or not he feels it romantically or platonically... he is does not have communication skills because bro does not have anyone to talk to PROPERLY so pls dont expect him to communicate well when he was abused, isolated and manipulated his entire life.
