The least you could to is to be honest with your feelings towards him.

But to be honest, I kinda understand how the mcs mind works as someone who also self sabotages at times though not the same extent as him. It's just sad and painful to see how he keeps lying to the love interest and himself for the sake of protecting himself but stubbornly refusing to see that it's contributing to the fucked upedness of his love life.

That maybe some author's often go the bland redundant miscommunication route because they do not really put time to flesh out their characters or they fear that directly straightening up things might lead to bland storytelling (which in some cases do be true for me at least)

However, I feel like if they know how to craft good scenes like this chapter, direct communication stays interesting because of how much uniqueness is present in the mcs thought process you know? Makes you see things on a different lens. Like you can tell the author really put their time and effort to mould their ideal mc and understand how his mind works. Because I've read many BL stories where it feels like even the author is confused what type of person their mcs are.

Since the updates stalled. Now I'm interested to read this when I have enough time in my hands, especially noticing now that Moscareto authored this webtoon.
