Also, I was kinda surprised that Hee-Ryang didn't expect that Yeonjo will try to poison him even when he knew he was concocting something. But looking back now, I think it's really just because he deluded himself into thinking that caring and being affectionate towards each other will somehow heal that big gaping wound in their past.
The final chapter solidifies my need for a tragic ending. I wish they can start with clean slate, no memories of the past like a modern AU. I used to think reincarnation trope will work too but after some thinking, I think it still won't work because the past still shadows them.
