Show how the mc has potential in court/politicking but is a bit wet behind the ears in navigating it, which makes sense because he doesn't have enough experience in doing this kind of stuff. He thrusted himself into this role of being a mole for vengeance without much of a training.
Anyway, I'm eating the tasty crumbs of progress in romance (idk if i can call it romance at this point yet but welp i can't find another fitting word) the author is giving us in this chapter.

Not only did he pressure the mc to marry him using the son's illness but also threatened to remove the mc's mating bond, a process that has a poor mortality rate! Plus he even callously mocked his feelings of love for him. Awww it really shows how much the love interest really cares for the mc and their son.

I'm starting to ship him with the mc. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
Also yikes to the love interest. A man as rich as he is could take time off work to be with the mc. He should be making that effort instead of acting all jealous. Idk if it isn't obvious to him that the mc doesn't want to impose on him given the nature of their marriage.
And if it gets popular, I hope an anime adaptation will be made. I desperately want to see this beautiful artstyle animated.
