What's ur coping mechanisms when ur down bad but still need to be happy

Realized that I use my pc, tablet and phone at the same time to stop any thought from appearing in my mind, both negative and positive ones. Id say its a coping mechanism, and its a VERY unhealthy one which am trying to lose.
