I think Tengoku saw what Aoki needed, someone to look at his pain and tries to help him which Aoki mistakens as love...but I think it could be love. This is why I think that:
Tengoku clearly has a lot of emotional baggage and things in past that also impact him to this day...and I can't say for sure that he has feelings for Aoki, but what is clear to me is that the fact Aoki began to see through the act Tengoku puts up to protect himself from being seen for who HE rlly is. He feels comfortable (more comfortable) expressing himself to Aoki but bc of his past really has issues with relationships involving love mostly bc he feels betrayed by love. People who love you hurt you, abuse you, say they wish you didnt exist, so he avoids this. This entire time maybe he's been slowly trying to open himself up and in fact in the latest chapter, Aoki saw right through everything he did and hit him with the truth and reality of who he is. Which hurt Tengoku because he's been running away from himself. He has been receiving love one-sided and never reciprocated but love isn't about only giving what others need or getting what you want from them.
I think he's slowly beginning to learn and see this with Aoki, a man who he has been trying to tie around his finger, and although Aoki rightfully feels like Tengoku has been just looking at what his past self needs and helping him, I think Tengoku shows a side of him that wants to be wanted and loved by Aoki, only to Aoki. And that feeling right there is love. Just my opinion!!

We all thought this would be some super fluffy shounen ai story and they smacked our face with that yaoi that one chapter. LOL no complaints here I remember the absolute shock though

EVERYTIME I read this, like others have been saying, the scene where Shinonome sided with Kousaka pisses me off. It's like he didn't even UNDERSTAND the situation and sided with the other person my poor cupcake Yuki like he was straight up stabbed in the back because his dumb lover did not trust him or my bad GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO EVEN TRUST HIM.
Honestly this is something I sort of expected though. I've always had this feeling that this boi feels like he knows Yuki so well to the point that he doesn't even have to ASK what happened. He can look at Yuki's face and know how he is feeling and I don't blame him for thinking that they have a past and he understands him without having to say anything in some situations. Yuki isn't the best with words so he'll put words in his mouth and he's sometimes right....but to SIDE WITH KOUSAKA BC HE DIDN'T WANT HIM TO HATE YUKI MOREE? What the hell is he a 5 year old boy making excuses??? Not buying it.
At least this jerk took ALL OF THE BLAME. In the end I think we now just know Shinonome not only has a sadistic streak, he is very controlling and manipulative. Sure, he seems to really care about Yuki but a relationship requires COMMUNICATION and not you deciding what is best for him or doing whatever the hell you want with them. I think they can work it out and have a healthier relationship Shinonome just needs to cut down the border yandere behavior. Yuki isn't a poor little victim himself. He's a huge asshole. I understand why Shino sided with Kou. He's not going to justify Yuki's terrible behavior. All what Kou wanted to do was make his first best friend's boyfriend to cherish him and treat him respectly
