She had to much cold energy in her. That made her go berserk and she was slowly dying. So our mc had to fight her cold energy with his hot energy. For some FUCKING reason he HAD TO have sex with her to cure the bullshit. He didn’t want to bc he was in a relationship and originally said he will never have more than one wife. But it was to sAvE her and his gf allowed it. To me this was such a uncomfortable and UNNECESSARY way to fight the shit but I guess. The rest of the story has been fine. There have also been novel readers that say the he will have 3 wives. Even tho he mentioned multiple time that he will only have on bc he himself suffered bc of the multiple wives/hires shenanigans

i agree with you. the potion that she used is from the demon world and they are unaware of it, also they did talked to remilia that the bitch is acting strange, clearly uncomfortable with her presence then she used the potion and everything went downhill to them.. a pity.. really.. the amount of guilt that they felt when they drank the antidote must be really heavy.

thats true but it was confirmed in the novel that it was merely a love potion, they still had the choice to feel bad for emi or not. And it didnt brainwash them completely whatsoever. Tho i agree bc if it wasnt for the love potion, they wouldnt even bat her an eye, so i hope theyd do them justice TT

i think there was a part in the manga that said that too! but i still believe that the love potion had more control over them than not. but despite all that, seeing that princes face swallowed with regret hurted me.. knowing he left the love of his life because of a love potion and not because of his own will and seeing her with someone else.. like.. girl i wouldve gone bat shit crazy

The thing about this potion is that less than making them fall in love with the saintess it enhanced their desires. That's why the Prince was so obsessed with whether Emi was jealous or not. He already deeply desired to have complete control over her affection to a toxic level it was just not shown as the saintess wasn't there. The potion exposed how even though they "loved" Emi they hated how she was "superior" to them and wanted to see her dragged down and broken so that they could have complete control over her. That's even with the "love" potion in his system he planned to ruin Emi, marry the saintess, and then find Emi pathetic and broken and offer her the opportunity of "repentance" by being his mistress/concubine. The point was to highlight how if their feelings and intentions with Emi were pure they would have never treated her like that even with the potion in their system. Their love for her was always toxic it's just the potion fully showcased just how bad it was. Even though the effect is gone he's not remorseful he's just hurt that she was never a slave to her love for him as he thought. He doesn't feel bad (or at the very least as much as he should considering he ruined her life), his ego is bruised.

To put it in perspective if a person treats you well and says all the right things but is secretly within their heart jealous of you and deeply controlling; can you say they love you when all they would like to see is you completely at their mercy? The prince's love for Emi was already warped by his inferiority and need to control her, the potion just made him reveal it sooner rather than later.

i agree except with the prince. he was a bad nut to begin with, he wanted remi to stumble so she wasn't as good (she's better) as him. he has in insane inferiority complex and he was willing to hurt her to appease it. last chapter he basically admits to wanting to know which parts were lies, he literally wanted to hurt her and make her jealous! this bitch is a bitch to the end!
