it makes sense for jeong-yoon to assume his mother didnt know anything, and it makes sense for his mother to feel guilt/shame.

jeong-yoon is raised in this family that clearly loves him and supports him. i believe he has no reason to suspect his mother is questioning his sexuality bc it’s not a major concern in his life. to my understanding, at the CURRENT MOMENT he holds no major concerns about his family rejecting him/leaving him(maybe at one point, not pictured in the story). he might have concerns about them ACCEPTING him, but it looks to me like he’s been loved and raised well that he doesn’t hold fear about being disowned or being shamed.

to that point, his mothers actions support the above. she seems to have trouble understanding him, but she still wants the best for him(which means jeong-yoon is right that his family will love him no matter what)

of course it varies in real life. but i think this season is set up in a really nice way so far. i enjoy the family dynamic and exploration of queerness. i would argue it leans a bit optimistic and fictional (menopause of all things lol) but i love reading about how they love each other in their own ways
