i guess sato's story isn't quite over lmao. being put in cryogenic stasis until you can be killed is absolutely horrifying but somehow fitting? he seems like the kind of villain that would find a way to continue existing, even for the next 200 years.

it was an action manga abt this boy who is shunned by the family he is living /w bc they believe that he is killing their cows or whatever. the family hires this man from the city to come investigate (but it was just secretly to kill the boy). the main thing i remember is that the boy is asked by the city man whether or not he wants to be saved but the boy just tells him to just kill him so the man shoots him in the head but it turns out the boy is a demon or something and survives and the man takes him back to the city to live alongside these two other supernatural kids in order to fight supernatural things.... or something like that.

spoilers for people who haven't read it:

the ending of this makes me feel so empty as well. in the end, it doesn't really seem like he's any happier. he wasn't able to kill himself so he just has to live with what he did forever (which might be the morally right choice but not the easiest one), his destined love was driven to commit suicide by him, his relationship with sachi remains ambiguous and he takes care of the kid she had with another guy... it's kinda like what was the point of anything? he's destined to be like this forever, never truly being happy and just living for the sake of living. let me know if u guys disagree lol i want to talk to someone

romances where the mc really likes the ml but the ml rejects them/is otherwise kinda cruel to them so the mc gives up but the ml realizes how much the mc means to them and tries to win them back (whether successful or unsuccessful) and there's a lot of angst. like there's a realistic vibe to their relationship, where things don't always work out. i feel like being hurt today lol
