Please forgive me if i was being rude, but you cant cure pedophile either. I may not be pedophile (but i like adult men and live in pretty conservative society so i can relate to it) but i kinda find it amusing that some people think pedophile is can be cure as some sort of sickness while i same time they can accepted gay as orientation when 40 year ago, half of people in western hemisphere look at gay people same as they look at pedophile. The reason is of course because the subject of orientation is minor (and of course in any way, pedantry so not be legalize. Child cant made rational decision at that age) but i don't think force them to succumb into rehab under pretext of curing is gonna resolve the problem at all (and it will never work).

I agree with this to a degree. I don't believe pedophilia is like a sexual orientation but that it is more like a fetish. (Also not a pedophile but I can relate to having a fetish) Fetishization of children is heavily frowned upon because it involves children but having it as a fetish is not the problem. It becomes a problem when someone develops the urge to inappropriately touch a child. Kei's parents were wrong in their "therapy" method because it did not focus on helping him understanding or overcoming the trauma he'd gone through. Kei did not develop the urge to assault the prepubescent Yui until later in life. If Kei had been correctly treated for his trauma then he may have never escalated to that point.

What I found interesting about the manga is that it showed mistreatment of someone not only for being homosexual but also for being a pedophile. The mistreatment from his parents is synonymous to mistreatment of pedophiles present realistically although typically it is not to that extreme. In many countries people are prosecuted and imprisoned with the same punishment that child predators would receive solely for possessing child pornography or even loli/shotacon. I personally do not believe that is an acceptable method for fixing the problem of child predation. However I'm doubtful it will ever change. (Disclaimer: I do not think child pornography should be condoned in any way, real children are violated so it is not okay. I also do not believe the possession of it should have the same punishment as the act of violating a child. I don't expect many to agree with me on that though.)

I personally dont think Kei is pedophile. He just gay probably from start, but he start violate Yui as a way to rebel to his parent and get revenge on his molester for leaving him alone (i doubt he can get erection to a younger child version of Yui). Ojisan in other hand is a pedophile and i consider that as his orientation, unfortunately he lease out his urge on a real child. But the problem for me is not his orientation but his real action on children, that suppose to be problem.

And of course, nobody gonna argue about legality of REAL (sorry, in this forum you need to make yourself clear, or some people think that it all same) child pornography, the question that become debate in here and still in most of western country that respect freedom of speech is either drawn child pornography that not involve any children in making is suppose to be legal or not. I personally believe it should be legal and as long is there is no real children involve, it should be made illegal. Fetish and personal fantasy whatever it is even if it involve breaking of law should not be made as crime as long as it not manifest in action over real life. For me that simple thought policing.

And one most noted that drawn porn or child and probably help of child like sex doll like for example, the one that made by one of japanese pedophile to help him release his urge in legal and ethical way is can help solve problem of pedophilia. Most of argument about banning lolicon and shotacon is just go round on pretext that the work glorify child abuse and urge people molest children which is basically is argument of people that against violence in video game, but somehow people consider argument against violence in video game is ridiculous but not on this matter (all the counter-argument for it is basically is same too with counter-argument for violence in video game, so i not gonna repeat myself)

Of course in the end, i agree that mental care is also is necessary (if not compulsory) to help them stabilize their emotion but not on pretext of curing it. Most of cure method that serve as penalty for molester that i learn in most of country in world and including my own country is basically is hormonal therapy and chemical neutering which is funny, is the same thing that they force on gay for example in UK, around 60 year ago just fore breaking indecency law. And i find it funny that some people here treated all pedophile just like gay being treated 60 year ago or in more conservative country, like they are some sort of indecent evil creature that cant hold their urge and there is no way drawn porn gonna satisfy them and that they would always end up as molester and not as some sort normal human being that happen have orientation or fetish that illegal if it manifest in real life.
Pedophile is not different any different from us, they also normal human that can differ fantasy and reality and hold their urge. Not all of them is like what i describe, but not all of us is also can differ between fantasy and reality in other matter like murder or rape,and in my opinion, with right care we can make compromise solution that can protect children and protect their right as human being for being treated like some kind madmen that need to be cure by injecting hormonal drug.

I probably sound too supportive to the person identified as pedophile (not on act on pedantry, that two different thing) but it probably because i live in more conservative country where probably half of population still think of homosexual and bisexual as the way some people in western society think about pedophile (some sickness that need to be cure and some kind of indecent creature), which kinda made me more easy to relate on their matter. I lucky though even though this country is pretty conservative but most of my friend is pretty open minded even when some of them still consider sexual orientation as choice and not something you are born with it (but in same time they never but in on other people choice of live and never come up with any complaint about my orientation, so you can say they also good friend)

I like that thought, and I really do agree with it. And yeah i do know there is no way to cure pedophillia which in my opinion it's kind of sad.
