what saves this story from going supeeeerrrwrong way is Yuu's attitude. He is not looking that way to Tsubaki at all. That is why i like it.
I agree, he learned his lesson in downplaying Tsubaki's feelings but it doesn't mean that he reciprocates it. Now that I think about it, the plot is actually pretty good, showing how their dynamic is at this time and showing us what really happened and the feelings of the parties involved. And when the time comes where we get the timeskip, at least we know what happened and how their 'past' helped in developing their future. But yeah, updates are suuuppperrr slow and short so it would definitely take too long for the awaited timeskip
