No, its main plot is nothing about romance. The main character does have a love interest though that he will end up with.
Also, my advice is to read the manga instead of the anime. The anime doesn't really follow the manga that well. The order for the manga series is Tokyo Ghoul and then read the Tokyo Ghoul: Re manga. There are also side mangas that delve into certain characters' backstories, so I suggest researching that to see when to read it.

Ya I think they are kinda cute. Their relationship evolves from what it’s at now. They get closer and actually have a fair amount of chemistry.

Not to be rude or anything but I don't think he is trans at all. The chances are slim to none to me. Plus it makes more sense for him to not like acting because he was forced to dress up as a girl by his parents and do it. Plus I read some of the raws even tho I couldn't understand anything I won't spoil anything but it doesn't make any sense if he is trans because who TF wouldn't like acting because they are trans?! Guys cummon that doesn't make any sense I could see it if you had any evidence but ._. really? Did u even think before u made that comment. Again I won't spoil anything but the chances of eunyung being trans are 1% to 0
