Wasn't it already solve? Yes, the English teacher was the gate way for him to remembering it but then that scene of Haru and Ren where they talk about who they were scared of kind of solve the whole thing because after that he was no longer sleepy....
It didn't show that he was no longer sleepy but i guess the reason why Ren was so tired in the first place was because he was trying to figure out why he started remembering all his memories and trying to figure out why he was so scared of Haru and what exactly he felt for Haru and how his feelings are starting to develop more towards Haru

The saddest part about this manga is that after Subaru died, Mura is going to enter a marriage that will ultimately hurt him and his wife since Mura is still in love with Subaru. If Mura fell in love with someone it would be better, but because he is still mourning Subaru he doesn't want to be alone so he is rushing into a loveless marriage.

I feel sad whenever I see people getting looked at weirdly because they want to be abstinent till marriage. I realize that is not the choice for many people and I respect it because it is up to the person in question to do what they want with their body. So when people make fun of someone because they have a different view on marriage and sex is quite depressing.

It's because it is really old fashioned. In the West it could be a religious thing but in Japan it is outdated. Plus it was only women who were supposed to be abstinate because guys went to the brothels. So his senpai is probably thinking he's an old fashioned maiden.

It's not outdated in Asia to stay sacred before marriage. A lot of Japanese idols act pure because of public image. They are not even allowed to date due to their contract. In Japan, being a virgin is a sexy thing which can be found in a lot of romance mangas (either shoujo,shounen or yaoi). But you're right about less people remaining virgin in Japan. But it's the same everywhere whether you go to west or east. Same amount of people believe in abstinence and same amount don't. And Buddhism and Shinto religion also encourage abstinence. They might not forbid marriages but they discourage debauchery. The more religious the person, the more he/she abstain from pleasure through five senses. Anyway,my country(Myanmar) is still conservative about sex and if a girl's virginity is lost before marriage, the guy is forced to take responsibility and the public look down on the girl. Although younger generation is starting to act more open, the adults force them to go into marriage as long as girl's reputation is destroyed.
Like I said and like you described, that's mainly for girls. Guys aren't expected to do that like women are. The virgin character in here is a guy. I was just explaining the perspective of the senpai who was making fun of him. Promiscuity is looked down upon in most places, but for guys it can be a status symbol and for girls there's slut shaming.

And if they're not going to brothels and still being satisfied, that means there are equal amount of girls who are just as much sexually active. And we were talking about losing virginity before marriage, which is not exactly promiscuity; not everyone sleep around. They probably loose virginity to their lovers and so there's no point comparing the amount or experienced guys or experienced girls. I don't know which country's standard you're referencing to, where guys are more free in their sexual activities, but this is just a stereotypical plot for romance mangas where protagonist is pure and different from the rest of the crowd as he's even regarded(mocked) as national treasure. The senpai calling him old maiden and stuff is just a way to emphasize his pure quality. It's the same with how, when mangaka wants to portray the seme as cool and handsome, they would draw a crowd of girls in background squealing after him and saying how cool he is, etc. Basically, I understand what you're trying to say about Senpai's POV and how he thinks the uke is outdated. But I think you're wrong about the West being more keen to practice abstinence due to religious purposes and more guys losing virginity compared to girls because they're expected to have more experience in sex. People who believe in saving themselves believe in it and people who don't believe don't. It's not about the location of the continent or the gender of the person. Maybe religion has a little bit to do with it. Back to the main point of this thread, like original poster said, a person should not be stared at weirdly just because they want to keep their chastity before marriage, or because they are no longer virgin before marriage. What they want to do with their body and mind is their own to decide after becoming an adult.
Rather than clearing up misunderstandings or cointinuing to debate, I'm only going to agree that people shouldn't be judged based on their harmless choices.
