I had a similar thought but I have a problem to fit that one scene in which he's standing in front of the hotel wondering about the smell of flowers into this theory.
If he was in on it he surely wouldn't wonder about the smell, right?
There are ways to explain it, like he himself was a regular person but is possessed by a flower person (we need a better name for them). But I don't know. It's probably still too early to come up with a detailed theory.

i think pet shop owner is some kinda magician or wizard or something like that. that hamster is probably enchanted maybe he gets inside of animals and take control of its bodies and just watches people or just puts some spell on them

I really love Ed and Glenn's interactions with each other. It is like they are using another language with each other just made for them and whenever they converse there is always a feel around them like they want to talk to ton of stuff but they don't and it just lingers around the air.
(well at least to me this is what feels like when they talk)
