I’ll answer this question first! I found out about Bl when I was in 4th grade through a Japanese movie called “Takumi-Kun” (I think that’s what it’s called).
I never had any negative thoughts about gay people so it felt kinda normal I guess, I don’t know.
And then I was hooked on bl anime for the longest time haha
Grew up in a conservative surrounding but was exposed to internet very early, when I was 10 I found out abt lgbtq and have nothing against it bcs I was told by my older brother that love is love.
At 12 I got into kpop and learned more abt bl bcs it is normal for fans to ship their bias
Though Im not a kpopper anymore, I am lucky that i was exposed to the lgbtq because my family really are homophobic and kinda brainwashed us that lgbtq is a disgrace which is so wrong. ^^
So over quarantine I gained like 20lbs. My insecurities just keep on adding on as I get older, and my parents are no help since they seem to always criticize me. As if it’s easy to lose weight.
I had to buy a bunch of pants and get rid of my old one since they didn’t fit anymore. Even though the jeans look nice, they seem to look bad on me.
Sometimes I feel like there’s no hope in loving myself anymore. I’ve tried so hard to not care about how I look, but that’s impossible.
Knowing that I need to go back to school in a few days kills me, having to reveal myself to my friends after a year of not seeing them only for them to be disappointed with the way that I am. It’s embarrassing.
This was just a little rant about my problems ( ̄∇ ̄")
Going through pretty much the same thing only difference is my one friend lost a ton of weight meanwhile I just kinda stayed the same and I guess I'm just feeling a little inferior, I'm really happy for her, of course, but I can't help but feel like I'm lacking or like all of my friends are pursuing glow-ups and I'm still the same person I was before
Firstly, I think you need to seek advice and support from a safer and more professional platform. But I understand how you might feel, it sounds like you are being wayyyy too hard on yourself. I really don’t think your friends would mind about your weight - if you frame it differently, would YOU be disappointed in any of your friends if they came back a size or 2 larger than they were before lockdown? The circumstances rn are so difficult. We’re in a pandemic, education, work and both your social and personal life has been drastically affected - so how can you expect yourself to remain unchanged and to cope with it perfectly??!
You need to cut yourself some slack here! You’re already doing amazingly well to have made it through this pandemic - living through a PANDEMIC is reallyyyyy not something you can just take in stride so you seriously need to put things unto perspective for yourself. Also weight gain is natural considering you’re at home all the time, often with continuous access to food, less distractions (going out with friends, commuting etc), less activity and WAYYYY more stress. You will naturally shed the weight again once you start moving about and getting back to your normal routine, so don’t be too hard on yourself and just think of it as your body naturally adjusting to cope with the circumstances,
So when I was younger I used to watch a bunch of Thai, Japanes, Korean, and Chinese BL dramas. I haven’t seen one in years and have found myself interested in watching one again. Any recommendations? (⌒▽⌒)
Hmmm, a few recs I've are
live action: Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai vs Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko? (Super good, they try to make it as similar to the manga! The song is also super good) 9/10
Honey Magic or 30sai made (The acting are top-notch, but you might not like the yellowish filter they add. If you don't mind about that, it's a *chef kiss*) 9.9/10
The Lovers ( It's a Japanese x Koreans, which was totally out of the cliche! BUTT you might not like the overly second-hand embarrassment with the erotic jokes. It has all the spice for a comedy-lover like me!) 9.9/10
The boy next door from dingo (you might need to be careful with this title tho, make sure to watch it on Youtube, and type dingo next to the title, or else you might see sum sweet home Alabama thingy. I love this series so much I keep on binge-watching in when I'm bored! The endless misunderstanding is so perfect, it's even spiced up with Gordon Ramsay comedy sugar!) 10/10
Untamed (tbh IMO, I think the story is a little bit all over the place and you might not be able to understand the plotline without reading the novel, other's explanation + the manhwa itself. I like the comedic spice but the plotline and heavy emotion are strong with this one. Since it's a story about grieve and reincarnation. You might well not see the BL-ness too much since (as far as I know) China government won't allow any homo publications.) 9.7/10
My Heart ( alright, this one, I appreciate this story so much despite being so underrated. Their acting is not awkward at all, Even tho the storyline is quite full of flaws. Regardless of that, I'll still recommend this story!) 8/10
Where Your Eyes Linger ( THE BEST KBL IMO, I'm fond of this story so much, despite the almost non-existent comedy instead it filled with quite heavy drama fondue.) 8/10
There's more but I just don't recommend or suggest them if they have a bad plot hole, awkward acting, etc. Hope you don't mind about that!
Does reading BL count as fetishizing homosexuals? And if not then what does?
BL itself is fetishizing homosexuality, but reading it doesn't always mean to fetishize it. what does count as fetishizing is being fixated on bl (wishing to be a guy only for "yaoi sex"), start adapting harmful heteronormative stereotypes from bl, only regard characters by sexual roles and viewing bl as a sexual pleasure.
So I’ve been wanting to experience the feeling that I did while reading “Killing Stalking”. If you have any scary, intense, or sad yaoi/bl webcomics than please tell!
Didn't mean to follow but I'll suggest
Blind Play

List with darker themes here that hopefully fits what you're looking for: https://www.mangago.zone/home/mangalist/906214/?filter=&page=1
Warehouse might be more in line with what you're looking for in terms of kidnapped/raped/stockholm syndrome-y vibes:

Also would recommend The Beast Must Die, that I personally felt had the psychological thriller component that Killing Stalking has:

I asked this question yesterday, but I want to get more opinions on it!
1. Should teens be allowed to read nsfw stories ?
2. Should teens be allowed to draw nsfw ?
I mean I think they should avoid it but it’s hard to avoid these days with so much exposure to the things. And “allowed” uh really they will if they want to, by other means if not directly. And the more they restrain the more they will be oblivious to the things in the future or maybe more curious. But I think avoidance is the key here, not ignorance, but the. Again it’s hard to do so, in teenage years
it depends on your own maturity. if you can differentiate reality from fiction, not fetishize etc then there's no problem with in in my opinion. sex isn't just for adults, and tbh a lot of these mangas have a great portrayal of healthy relationship, how you should properly have sex with lube, condom etc and yea. it helped me figure out my sexual orientation so..
I think we need to stop pretending sex isn’t talked about, thought about, or dreamed about. I don’t think it should be a taboo subject. As an artist, I do think that there is a line between porn and art. It may be thin at times, but there is a line. So I would personally like to have an open discussion about sex with my teen and have some set boundaries on reading and art. Sex is a good thing, but you need boundaries with it. So if there are good and clear boundaries, sure. I wouldn’t want my teens to read some of the smut I read though. ....I’m sounding so hypocritical right now lol
It depends on how mature the person in question is.
I'll say that it's not exactly wrong to allow teens to draw nsfw contents and read them, coz it's most likely the curiosity to learn about uh yk, how they do it, and stuff due to the hormones .
But, if the person is not mature enough and wants to experience stuffs like pregnancy irl before turning 18 , then it should not be promoted.
Hope this helps :)
1+2 : Wait, if that's drawing human anatomy for learning purposes and improving skills than yes, cause as an art student we had to face it at earliest 17, but in terms of NSFW, as a mangaka, I think is better to face it anyway at any age, but not earlier than sex education itself. Cause it can be a shock if not because of curiosity
Okay so I’m a writer and artist and I was just laying and bed and then, BOOM! A romantic story idea came to mind!
Muse A has been getting the same dream every night for the last few years. It always starts the same and always ends the same. What kind of dreams is he having you may ask? Well, it’s about him and this guy, they’re having a romantic picnic date in the skies and just when they were going to kiss……he wakes up.
Muse A can’t help but have some attachment to the man in his dreams. Muse A is a loner and doesn’t really go looking for friends, but now he’s longing for love. He wants the love that he feels in his dream.
When the next school years starts, a new student comes into class and it’s the boy in his dreams, Muse B.
He seems familiar somehow, but Muse A and Muse B never met before until now!
Why is Muse A getting Dreams of Muse B? Where has he seen him before? Does Muse B recognize him?!
What do you think of this idea ( ̄∇ ̄")?
Its really interesting!! Id love to read this!
Ngl it's kind of predictable but at the same time it would be make a really great plot depending on how it goes and what the character's personalities are. ( If u we're offended by me calling it predictable, im soryy :'> ) but if you would actually turn it into a story, i would probably read it.
Not offended at all! And I totally agree that it could be a great plot depending on how it goes. It’s definitely one of those prompts that can either be classified as Wattpad trash or a really good book ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
