Yuri has the audacity to talk about consent after manipulating a drunk man into having sex with him

Where was the manipulation tho Nonickname

Read chapter 14 again. Yuri manipulated Jiri by saying things like "If it was my brother in law you would happily do it like a pervert so why are you like this only to me?" / "If you can kiss someone while imagining my BIL you can do the same when having sex can't you?" Jiri was saying 'stop' the whole time yet he didn't listen, then he gets pissed when he doesn't stay after the sex ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Yeah the consent there is questionable. It's what I don't like about the yaoi with "no", "stop" like it was normal to say that and the other person keeps going. it's messed up! But well, I like to think this chapter is jiri revenge :P I loved the face on yuri when jiri used him and ditch him like that (though, probably jiri didn't know it was him)

I just realized that YJH cares about KDJ more than his goddamn wife whom he had a child with lmao. When he saw her again in the 3rd regression (well not really but you know what I mean) and she was posessed he was ready to give up on her but he literally regressed and went through the same hell again just to bring back Kim Dokja even though the scenarios already ended. In his 0th life he married Lee Seolhwa and had a happy life but left cause he wanted to know more about Kim Dokja and himself. When he was alone with her in 3rd regression all they talked about was KDJ. He once sent him more than 40 messages and got pissed when he didn't see them like a teenage girl in love. All while pretending he doesn't give a damn about him. Truly life and death companions.

    ShaChan December 12, 2020 5:24 am

That life and death companion is much sweeter than husband and wife lol

    Pochiikun December 14, 2020 6:26 am

Y'all dont freaking forgot that the first and original reason he regress was to meet KDJ I AM CRYING

I finished the novel long ago but there's one thing I still don't understand. In this one chapter they're curing people with STORIES. Living, breathing humans with blood in their veins (i guess??) are getting stuffed a bunch of stories into their body as medical treatment. I know they're trying to tell us that everything is a story and all but I always found it confusing how fables are treated like an object or something and I'm really curious how they'll draw those parts.

    Galaxy December 10, 2020 10:53 pm

I think because once the scenario started they stopped being just humans. They became incarnations of different constellations. Not to mention Kim Dokja who became a constelation himself, thus his constellation body was made out of his core stories, those that made him who he is and mad ehis character

    mar05_gall December 10, 2020 11:22 pm

I agree, even when Kim was in the demonic world, his bodies needed story and I really didnt understand at that point even tho I tried to ignore "stories" when it was introduced (since I didn't get it)

    fdnsh December 11, 2020 2:29 am

It's like without your story, you cease to exist in that world. That's why stories are very crucial.

mondobutter December 10, 2020 11:14 am

I'm really glad the female characters in ORV look and act like actual people and aren't some dolls with fancy clothes and huge breasts with zero personality whose only purpose in the story is to fawn over the OP main character and boost his ego *cough* solo leveling *cough*

    Una-chan December 10, 2020 11:36 am

    Oop-- You aren't wrong though.

    Kalidi December 10, 2020 11:53 am

There was an inkling of strong female but it disappeared rather fastly. But seriously why do they always have unnaturally big boobs?

    Sai phantomhive December 10, 2020 12:11 pm

    True

    Ringo December 10, 2020 12:14 pm

Lol solo leveling couldn't even hold a candle to ORV, be it plotline, world building nor character development. What I like about ORV and Trash of Count Family are their female characters. They're so diverse and have depth. Some of them show that you can still be gentle, feminine and kind, while also be badass and strong.

Precisely! I always hate female characters but in orv I don't cause they have been created very well! Kalidi

Some authors are just too lazy to write a normal, likable female character. The only way they think that would make people like a female chara is to make her more masculine, tomboyish and not-like-the-other-girls.
When in fact, there are great female leads who are neither tomboy nor damsel-in-distress, they're just normal girls who are stuck in abnormal situations and have to be resourceful and use their wills to survive.
Characters like Noriko (from Kanata Kara), or Yuri (Red River), Mai (Ghost Hunt), Sana (Kodomo no Omoccha), Yona (Akatsuki no Yona) etc. These are characters who are strong in their own way yet aren't afraid to show their vulnerable sides.

If Lyn turns out to be the generic two-faced snake like most reincarnation manga I'm definitely dropping this. I've seen a few spoilers supporting that but I'm just gonna ignore them and pray that it'll somehow, hopefully not happen. The empress and Lyn shared A LOT of beautiful moments together, we heard her inner thoughts, she was just an adorable cinnamon roll ever since we first saw her, I even ship the two of them. The author went through the trouble of making it clear that she's not a love rival so the two of them can have a wholesome friendship, she just CAN'T be a villain. I don't want her to be ╥﹏╥

    Reine December 7, 2020 1:34 am

I don't think she's a villainess/against the empress but she might have another side to her

Well we are joking and all...but to be fair, it is writting from a female point of view, in a patriarch society, in the Japanese culture that makes a pretty unclear line using specific words for unclear concepts... So, it is annoying, redondant, wrongly told, but it did happen a lot in Japanese history that someone who is more often attracted to opposite gender(s), but sometimes for the same, is still 'heterosexual' in the eye of society...because they could still 'correct their ways' and 'become normal again' and blablabla...I'm tired lol
But my point was just that in the traditional Japanese culture(and still lingering in present days mentality) there is not exactly such a thing as 'bisexuality' and stuff.
It's way more complicated than my limited Engrish and knowledge can explain in my exhausted state...but you can look up Japanese cultural view on sexuality and genders if you want. It's pretty interesting, and was really different before the Western Countries influenced them.

Oh, like you said I was just joking but that's indeed interesting. I was always bothered by the general view of bisexualiy (and gender roles) in Japanese manga but didn't really know the reasons behind it, just thought it was something fetish-like, similar to how there are 'straight man/woman' categories in gay porn lol People thinking someone who's attracted to both sexes can become 'normal' again is pretty fucked up but the topic sounds interesting overall so I'll look it up. Thanks for the reply!

    My pleasure!
I'm far from an expert, but I took a course in University in Japanese sexual culture through ages as a side thing, and it was really fascinating.
Well, each culture have their rooting views that are kinda unique to them!
There's also a 'third gender' a bit like in Indian culture in traditional Japanese roles...but it's not all glamour and roses sadly.
    Still interesting! ^^;
