I cannot express more how much I am loving this series.
From the latest anime episode, we see a side of the late emperor that should blur the pure hate on him. Most of the audience jump on hating him as he's a pedo, understandable, but forget he does not have a normal state of mind. He was also repeatedly abused by adults becoming scared of adult women. As he grew older, he did develop some maturity and apparently recognized his daughter with Taihou. Hence, requesting Shisou to marry her and hope his daughter and her descendants would be in good hands - we know this didn't happen because Suirei ended up abused by Shenmei. But at one point, he cared. He wanted to recognize his daughter but the queen regent threw them out. That to me shows he was not evil the way he was portrayed and how most audience deem him. That does not change what he has done but it was worth giving credit that he requested Shishou this much.
Loulan taking responsible for her family is sad yet empowering. Berated women who succumbed to pleasure - drugged but still - and barely cared for their kids. Knocked some sense in her father, took Suirei and fully rebelled against Shenmei. Ugh, the music while Loulan confronted Shisou was chef's kiss.
The entire reveal - the characters we know knowing the truth about Jinshi and the Jinshi x Maomao moment is divine! Jinshi is hot!
It's so good that I will still read the manga because, why not? Glad to have stumbled on this series.
Edit: OMG, every character so far has some sort of duality to them. Doing something horrible yet have notable deeds that can be credited to them. Empress regent stopped slave trade, late emperor "secured" his daughter's well-being. Shenmei, was just horrible through and through, ffs.
I held off reading because I know about the wing - got spoiled about it. But man, I couldn't help but shed a tear. Ribbit crying, the other guy begging for potions, and others giving theirs - my heart......
He bled. Sir was not prepared to have sex. No lube, no prep. That was the problem. He had all the time but did not research how to prep for sex? MC was already opening to it but he fucked up, yet again.
S1 and 2 were painful but it is quadrupled in S3? Because we're going to go through ALL OF IT.

I mean, this is a typical plot? What's the problem? I appreciate the MC takes care of his stuff - yes they break from overuse but he washes them dutifully. That's cute.
The plan he has been brewing is just have enough power that people would not bat an eye when he marries Yoon.
