I'm on ch 3 and I stop to see the comments. I can't believe with what I am reading so I check the genre a few times in other websites. How could the characters here have more tension and chemistry than most of the yaoi I've read???
That 'mine' in ch 3 made me stop for a moment to check if I'm reading the correct genre. Even the part where Jill tie the handkerchief (??) with HIS MOUTH on the mc finger to stop the bleeding was hotter than the kissing scenes in some bl.
Add to the fact that author is adamant about it being NOT BL. Also, makes me click my tongue coz at the end of the volume, other bl manga are being advertised. Probably, in mangaka's world, this is the kind of friendship men should have ┐(´ー｀)┌
Okay, so from what I understand in the story is that, the snake is a rare species, the rabbit is an aberrant species. The wolf needs to mate with a rare species in order to inherit the family. The wolf doesn't want to because well, he sees the snake as a friend (and he doesn't want to, pretty evident every time he choose the rabbit) but the snake sees him as his fated one (there's a chapter where the red string from the snake is connected to the wolf). Unfortunately, the wolf fated one isn't the snake but the rabbit.
What's infuriating about this is the way it was illustrated. Because every time I feel that the wolf and snake pairing would sail, the rabbit appears and then obviously the wolf would choose the rabbit cause they're fated. It keeps giving hope but I should have known from the chapter where the wolf gives a fake snake to the rabbit instead of his friend snake when the rabbit ask him for it. I should have known, it wasn't because he treated the snake as someone special. He sure treated him as important but not special. I'm also angry when the wolf keep the snake from being with the hamster dad if he would only be with the rabbit in the end. Like I know, the hamster dad did leave them before but it's more painful seeing your one-sided/rejected love happy especially since once upon a time it could be you.
I thank the snake for being lovely and friendly cause he was okay with it. He accepted it and move on with it. He is still friends with them but I lowkey wanted him to go far away from them (╥﹏╥)
And that chapter where his children say goodbye to him, damn, how many children will the snake see off before he die? Is that foreshadowing that he will be alone and not end up with the wolf???
Anyway, that's how I understand the story.
Man, I rarely leave review and replying comment but the infuriating part is the rabbit. This fucking rabbit. He destroy EVERYTHING. It was illustrated beautifully but I still hate him and that wolf the most. Snake is really suffering the most.
Somehow this is the only toxic relationship that I wanted to keep sailing.
Is there anyone who can update this so that I can have another dose of my delusions

As much as I'm uncomfortable with the age gap, I can't really impose my morals into this story. The setting of the manga makes their engagement reasonable even with the age gap but not acceptable in modern time. It's around world war 1 and considering Bunji high position in military, he must've been through a lot. I'm really looking forward to the continuation since there are a lot of conflicts that can arise during the setting of the story that can have a large impact on the development of their relationship.
I'm really thankful that I was born in a country without winter as a season because if I wasn't, every winter would be hell for me. Every time it's cold season in my tropical country, I get stomachache and colds. I just can't ( ≧Д≦)
