your parents loving work more than you had literally nothing to do with being discriminated against for being homosexuals WTF what she talking about. Those two things are so unrelated that it's baffling that she even had the audacity to get involved like god grief there are so many differences between those two things let's go over some of them.
These are two consenting adult men and her situation was her being upset that her mom didn't love her onesidedly as it was a parent-child relationship.
Her parents not loving more than their work is not the same as homophobia it is literally night and day and she didn't even like tell her friend or other people before this so she didn't even face any discrimination or bullying for it it was just her with her own feelings of being "outcasted".
There is a difference between parental neglect and homophobia.
