I actually dislike the term fujoshi. I think it's a term which pretty much embodies all of the issues you addressed in your post.

For uke, it's gotta be Shio from "Merry Checker." His personality is just really cool and unique, not much like the shy, cheery ukes from typical mangas.

I've read American MM books, but rarely any Asian BL novels. I heard that Kill the Lights is really good though, and it's updated quite frequently. I don't really read Asian BL novels because the translations sometimes make it difficult/awkward to read.
