I don't like how they tried to redeem the Emperor's actions by making him some traumatized little boy with a revenge plan. He was insane from chapter 1, that is what the story led us to believe. He used people as entertainment, and he would cast them aside or kill them if he decided they were boring, he brought in a mistress because he saw she was crazy like him, he didn't even love her in the slightest, she simply piqued his interest. And that's personally how I liked him. His character was cruel and unique, he didn't need to be redeemed because he had no reason to redeem himself, there was no way too redeem him other than completely changing the fundamentals of his character, which is what they did. Idek how to explain why I like his character so much it's weird, but I feel like after they got a new artist, they got a new writer too, cuz why is EVERYBODY a watered down version of themselves? Did the writer lose the plot or what?
She has all the potential to be a strong female lead, but the only person she seems to be able to defy is herself (or Evelina). She's constantly making the wrong choices, and digging herself even deeper into situations, like how she tries to diffuse situations but always ends up saying it doing something that aggravates the enemy. And the one guy who could've saved her from losing all your powers literally gave up trying because it hurt her one time, and then when she loses all her magic he contemplates leaving her even tho it was HIS FAULT she ended up like that in the first place literally the entire reason the contract was made with aslan was so hed get rid of the mark on her thigh but he never even attempts to after their first encounter. He knew was the mark did so wtf?? And ik the male leads falling in love with her is kinda random and forced, but how'd she fall in love with all of THEM?? She was convinced the knight hated her but as soon as he showed any interest she reciprocated. And the same thing goes for the Leon and Aslan, she didn't acknowledge of like them until they started liking her. The writing is very sloppy even outside of romance, like how did the evil priest become the high priest even tho he was under arrest? Every priest trusts him with their lives even after witnessing him being arrested for possession of magic. I would say maybe the priests are under a spell of hypnosis but nothing so far would suggest that to be the case. The plot had potential but the writing kinda ruins it. I could go on forever probably
the writing was pretty shit from the beginning. cuz why was no one literally questioning why her personality changed dramatically, like a completely different person. why is the mc not worrying about the possible bad outcome if people think some sorcery is at play like the saint getting possessed by another soul? how is she able to do a ton of paperwork if she was in the hospital doing nothing but reading all the time? why on earth does she still think the knight hates her after all the shit he done for her? before that, she was questioning if he was in love with her... yet she jumps right back to thinking he hates her for a dumbass reason. and it was real ironic when the knight was like "all my treasure and status may fade from existence, but evelina will always be there or whatever" when she's not even the real saint, and he has no basis for thinking she would not revert back to her old self
I liked the emperor cuz he's literally insane, like that's how he was written and it's important to the plot and his character, but now he just looks pathetic if you want her so bad then go look for her yourself lmaoo nobody pities you, get off your ass and go do something about the problem you caused smdh pathetic ass mothefucker damn
Look I like the ml and I'm rooting for them, but do you know how frustrated I would be if the guy I'm forced to be around keeps pushing his beliefs about me onto me... he can believe what he wants, but the fact that he talks ab the mc that way so matter-of-factly while the mc still has no way of remembering his past life, is so aggravating. The "I can't wait to meet the real you" part woulda had me crashed out cuz bitch old memories or not this is the real me wtf being disrespectful for what
I was rooting for the crown prince since day 1, I never trusted Eclis, he always seemed insane and emotionally dependent to me. And vinter just doesn't give end game vibe. I thought maybe she'd get an ending with the brothers but after that hunting competition incident I dropped that. Anyway, so much of this agony could've been avoided if the crown prince realized he loved her sooner
