Highly personal opinion, ur free to disagree, but there was 0 communication from either party. This was just such a big headache of side story. Thought we'd see character development all we got was a forced proposal bc the author said "fuck communication les plug fuck Lyle"
I understand what you mean and I think Lyle should also avoid bottling in his feelings and communicate. And Ash was on the right track with wanting to know what is going on with Lyle.
But using punishment sex was not the best way of doing it, especially when Lyle was reluctant and actually showed his discomfort about the S&M play.
So this made the 'proposal' icky to me and didn't feel as romantic as it should've been. Sure they are getting married, but the ends doesn't justify the means.
If the author made it in a way that they communicated like proper adults, it would actually show character development on both sides and make the proposal more heartfelt.
