Cause there isn't any more conflict to settle. In fact, once they got him away from abusive mom and he was able to study, that really was a good end, too. But it showed that you don't just help--you should accept help. Friendship, like family, is give and take, give and take, no one just taking all the time or giving all the time.

So, they're grown, working, and they will be friends forever. And if little sister married him, family forever. :D

Hmm. You might actually be right about that too. This may be why people say other people should not use their power in front of John. Or why he didn't want the bear guy to touch him. Or why he was bullied all the time before Claire found him. Or why Claire never seemed to use her powers during their confrontation. But then it makes me wonder why he said at the very beginning he was born without one?

Wait a freaking minute. Is that why he thought he was born without one? Because he didn't absorb any powers until he met Claire?
