I’m sorry but I really feel concerned for those who think that ml Is ok because he loves FL. Do you realize it’s exactly the same scheme someone suffering from obsession can do in real life. Isolate the object of desire from others (what he has done to evict dietrich is inhuman) someone that can put your best friend in danger or kill him just to have you for himself. Lie ! Manipulate ! Using your weakness! Using your mental issues to keep you under his control. I really hope no one will ever have a partner like that . It can mess up your brain , mess up your feeling and it’s really hard to get out of this type of toxicity. Because you will always think « it’s because he loves me » . Please never ever tolerate this type of behavior from your partner . People die everyday because they stay in relationships where they tie themselves to the idea that it’s ok my partner loves me.

In chapter 68 (i think) the chapter after his confession on how he came back. FL ask a soldier how he was during the battle and discovered Wilhem memory came back before the ambush and that he lied about that. And he laughed about how dietrich died when the soldier girl gave him the cloth in the flashback we see 2 chapter before that.
That's just more of the facade. It's a lie. The latest chapter confirms he didn't care about Dietrich's death because when he learns he is alive he shows absolutely NO happiness at the revelation and even draws his sword at him
The entire reason Rein is leaving him is because she realized he lied about that. She talks to people who were there and realized that he already remembered his last life and allowed Dietrich to be ambushed to get rid of him. He didn't take the cloth because he cares for him, he took it because he didn't like that Rein gave it to him
I do agree with what your saying, but... this ambush could have been something that didn't happen in his past life. We still don't know clearly what happened. All those things were from fl perspective and thoughts. She was in a very emotional moment.
He probably didn't care about Dietrich, that's why Ml didn't care and acted the way he did.
Yes Rein is better off whiteout him and she has obvious trauma because of him. I just hate her for the way she will act in the future. I hope the manhwa will be different from novel. If not...
