It was by far one of the most interesting and well written story I've read on this platform just for it to go all in the bin in a couple of chapters... I feel so robbed of this masterpiece. I was so close to the characters, so interested to hear what was going to happen, I could even accept a sad ending but this isn't just sad, it's bullshit. You can see where the author just gave up. I feel like I lost time reading this, I'm so mad.
this story went from mediocre to total shit.
it was never one of the most interesting or best written stories on this platform lol
maybe you should expand on what you read.
The plot from the start is a winner for most straight stories. This was very interesting. It could have been amazing.
It was not the best on the platform; hence, it was better than most vampire
boys x girls.
i disagree.
the plot from the start was ok, but it was never great.
there are far better stories on this platform.
most vampire boy x girl manhwa suck so you saying this is better than most really doesnt mean much.
(also you are using the word "hence" wrong, you should look up the definition of words before you use them.)
we all have our own opinion. i respect yours XD but i'll stick to mine :P
Yes everyone has different taste so lets agree to disagree
But please do look up words if you dont know their meaning, it can potentially cause confusion and misunderstanding if you use words incorrectly.
hm?
and what is it that i used " incorrectly" ?
hence i used instead of "therefore" , "because " . i have used hence in this format many times before , in school out of school . that being it is the correct way to use hence in my vocabulary .
hence meaning according to goggle : therefore , because , for this reason. hence explains why, in which way did i use hence wrong?
ill try to explain this in a simple way:
hence is a conjunctive adverb.
its used to show a cause and effect relationship between two parts of a sentence. The first idea is used as a form of explanation for the second idea.
Example:
I haven't slept properly for days, hence there are bags under the eyes.
I haven't slept properly for days (idea 1).
the bags under the eyes (idea 2).
idea 1 is the cause, idea 2 is the effect.
idea 1 explains the reason for idea 2.
your sentence: "It was not the best on the platform; hence, it was better than most vampire boys x girls."
"it was not the the best on the platform" (idea 1) isnt a cause for and doesn't explain, "it was better than most vampire boys x girls" (idea 2)
There is no cause and effect in your sentence, those are two completely independent ideas. That is why using "hence" (a conjunctive adverb) is incorrect in this case.
Instead, you should have used the word "but" or "yet" (coordinating conjunction words). By using a coordinating conjunction, you can connect two independent ideas together in a single sentence.
This would be correct:
"It was not the best on the platform; but, it was better than most vampire boys x girls."
and another important thing:
The word hence and the word therefore are both conjunctive adverbs, but the word because is a conjunction. Conjunctions are similar to conjunctive adverbs in the sense that they are both "connector words", but they are not one in the same.
(i can explain the key differences if you want)
Its not enough to know the literal definition of all the many connector word", you also need to understand when to use what type.
Im not the best at explaining, so i hope this wasn't too confusing of an explanation.
towards the bottom i made a typo, i meant to write words, not word"
I noticed i made another typo.
its supposed to be "my" not "the" in the example i gave.
it should be:
I haven't slept properly for days, hence there are bags under my eyes, not "the eyes"
⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄ i see thank you for educating me. ( i do not mean this in a sarcastic way)
no problem.
the english language has many rules and they can be confusing sometimes
right you are.
