This one hits the kokoro, but it's also pretty funny. (sorry for not updating for a while, I was only finding trash, so I had to go back to my 'read' to list some new ones) It's about a droid (basically a cyborg with feelings) who picked up an abandoned human child while she was walking through the quiet streets. (the world is basically wartorn, and technology has improved significantly) They raised the child and he became a young boy, and it's just basically slice of life. It's pretty cute.
