here’s my thoughts —
1. altho i was rooting for gido and mc, i think the author’s choice of making them past crushes was a good choice. Not only was it a beautiful representation of ppl being too scared to make a move and eventually moving on, it was an integral part to the mc’s development of where he believed he stood in society. Since he thought gido rejected him, i feel like that was when he began to really feel like betas and alphas/omegas couldn’t intermix. Also the super late confession was a nice touch. It was a great way to show the finality of their romantic feelings cause they now were both platonic enough that they /could/ confess to each other. their relationship was so good
2. okay so for the side couple side stories, i was disappointed that the main couple didn’t get more side stories instead. HOWRVER, i do understand why the author wanted to put them in considering how much tjey showed up in the main story and how they played a part in the plot. As much as i hate their relationship bc of it emotional and physical abuse, it was refreshing to see it portrayed as bad and toxic rather than being sugarcoated or dismissed entirely. It was a really good show of someone eventually coming to terms w the fact that their relationship was toxic and getting the courage to leave. it wad also great to see mr.lee not go back to heetae after the man begged. despite all this, i am kinda annoyed that mr.lee forgave heetae in the end, but honestly if that’s what he thought would be best, there’s not much that could be done. tbf we do see heetae improve slightly so maybe there was a character development we didn’t really see. either way it was an interesting side couple.

Honestly it pisses me off that the author continues to show rough SA in all of her sex scenes, and it’s not even like she doesn’t recognize that they aren’t consensual.. Potato’s speech literally proves that she UNDERSTANDS consent and she’s explained that she did lots of research on BDSM culture which is VERY CONSENT ORIENTED for bj alex so the fact that she still fails to actually use her knowledge pisses me off. Genuinely even if it were for jaekyung to have a huge redemption arc where he stops assaulting dan, its disgusting and a tasteless plot point. Sad that she continued this shit for potato and heesung as well under the guise that they were drunk — but at least she kinda addressed it (even tho we all know that’s likely not gonna happen ever again).

I feel like the hate that Taekyung gets compared to Heeseo is unwarranted?? like i understand that everyone is pissed that he didn’t turn in his mother but tbh if you were in his position where she’s mostly the only family you have AND she said she was going to die soon, i doubt most would turn her in. Especially considering she hasn’t exactly done anything bad to him. Taekyung was very much deceived by her and by the point he realized (at least as we know for now at the end of s1), it was basically too late. We also have no clue whether he is actually creating a huge case against her anyways.

Additionally, i feel like heeseo’s actions need to be talked about more because sure, he craves love and acceptance from taekyung, but bro he sa’d taekyung multiple times and also STABBED HIM HELLO?? He uses guilting to manipulate Taekyung and we can technically attribute it to his need for taekyung but he’s still a shitty person. Trauma doesn’t excuse actions lmao. Overall, they both have wronged each other and i think we should be holding BOTH of them accountable thanks <33
