I feel like that twink trope itself is trying to put a belt around that spectrum of gender, sex and its expression. What bothers some people is that twinks are reduced to that specific character sheet >so often< to appeal to an overwhelmingly female audience (which is a non-issue tbh).
But yea, no one really minds or notices when the story's good......
