I have a theory that maybe Khalid might have been a spy for a while. It seems they grew up together on her past life so there's a chance that along one of their battles he got captured and that was the time he became a spy. My theory is that he might have killed her because he did not want her to suffer. There might be a chance that he knows they are on the loosing end (hinted during the time he presented her head to the king) and would most probably gonna be prisoners of war if that happens, Estelle being the commander will definitely gonna get the worst treatment, add to the fact that she was a woman, the treatment she would receive would probably even worst. Maybe... just maybe, in fear of an event of Estelle living while suffering he decided to just end her life and live as a dog of the kingdom he hates as atonement since death perhaps for him is just an escape for his sin of killing his comrade/or even possible love interest.

These larl and dress arc can be summarize in 2-3 chapters but no they made a wholeaas arc for it. If he wont be a love rival or someone important I don't know how long the story can dragged out for a character that will have a significant role on the story.

I know he is annoying but I trully cheer for him, he changed for the better for the sake of the ML and sadly his madness and obsession is happening only because it is the will of the story.

To be honest I'm still partial with maize's relationship with the demon. It was years of lies and manupalation, and the way she kept on making excuses whenever she feel like something is wrong with the way her husband thinks makes me think she is trapped in an idea that she needs this relationship, she needs this man. a.k.a. signs of a manipulative and toxic relationship.

I just hope everyone gets a happy ending, especially for Mr. Knight who dedicated years to improve his self and sadlt went mad for it.
