im confused some of the other comments thinks that ray is into the ml or developing stockholm syndrome when it is clear that hes doing all that for winter to trust him enough to be able to go outside. also he doesnt want shit to happen again just like last time when winter didnt come for him for days with no food and just staring into the void, he nearly lost his mind
thatās kinda how stolkholm starts. its a way of coping and surviving. the reason some commenters are noting it, is probably because he keeps saying how heās left āaloneā.
my guess: will he use the chance when heās asleep with him to escape? absolutely. but then heāll probably get punished and left alone again like before. then heāll start wanting to escape less and less in fear that true isolation will come as punishment.
you can tell from his dialogue that heās also feeling āemotionā for his kidnapper, and is kinda just chalking it up to wanting to escape, but we can clearly start to see heās developing stockholm syndrome as heās becoming more dependent on him. um, kinda long but he does check out a lot of boxes. he suppresses his anger to please said abductor, but canāt help and react in fear when he believes heās going to be isolated again. i feel like heās still in the early stages!
