Usually this author does way more smutty works, so this was a fun delight! It is pretty short but still why is it rated so low???
Off topic: I love that one threesome story this mangaka did, with the couple in their 40s (there’s a few other oneshots about them) and the former fucc buddy one of them had in the past. Too bad it’s not here.

The whole red vs green flag debate seems a bit off so far? Even if they had some deception drama in the past, it doesn’t seem like ML has any malicious intentions (I didn’t read the novel but I did go through the webcomic raws). He’s very protective too. Imma continue reading. Whether he is nice because he’s guilty, attracted to MC or into some new mind game is up to you to decide as a reader. Might be a mix of the three, imo.
Based on some of the spoilers I will say this: maybe he’s not a red flag but I can understand how the omission of an action (in this case choosing not to disclose info to MC) will be a shitty choice on his part. Especially since he decided to pursue MC anew. Looks like a situation where he will keep things hidden for too long and it’s gonna implode. It will become another major breach of trust probably. I can see how that would irritate me in the future hahha but it’s too early to assume it’s red flag behavior. It’s more so cowardly.

I didn’t expect to like this but it’s actually ok. I thought it was gonna be very basic and smut-driven. There’s a semblance of a plot here. The drama is not super angsty or super frustrating (so far). It starts off with the whole lovers caught cheating and revenge seggs but then turns into a new love story with fluff (spoiler: or rather rediscovered love?).
More spoilers: I’m caught up with the raws, and it kinda feels like everyone is out to get our MC (mostly to blackmail or bed him?). But fear not ML is there to protect him. MC does have a backbone imo, but sometimes he could be pretty gullible. Like how his need to network numbs his sense of stranger danger.
Side note I love how MC likes cute things and how he’s watering his plant with that cute watering pot every now and then.

A lot of old yaoi and shounen ai manga feature nihilistic fatalism. This is an example thereof. The characters’ motivations for their actions are vague and unclear. Uke exhibits zero self-respect while completely self-sacrificing. There’s a self-defeating conflict that makes you feel like you wasted your time. The story feels like you’re stuck on an unchanging wavelength from start to finish.

Gramps was amazing. So refreshing. For once a manhwa where an older rich person isn’t homophobic trash. None of that forced marriage bullshit either.
It’s a cute story. It’s ok. Mild angst, mostly fluff. Misunderstandings form the basis of much of the issues they face but it didn’t make me want to pull my hair out. Everything was cute and consensual. Idk why some got the impression the ending was rushed. There wasn’t that much going on lmao. The last thing I would have wanted was an arc about MC’s mother. MC was finally happy and at peace in the end. I think that’s enough.
MC’s entire family is trash imo. His mom included. I get that for the story her character flaws were a pivotal plot device and MC has to go through that trauma and then let go of the past. It’s consistent with the story and his character. But why is the author trying to make us sympathize with her? Even before the other son’s death she was already neglecting MC.
I got the impression she likes to fixate on things to be stuck in a cycle of self-hatred. First with the in-laws, then her son’s sickness, then his death, and now the abandonment of MC. This is why therapy doesn’t help her. She doesn’t want it to. I bet when the aunt told her about the debt etc it was just one more thing for her to obsess about, rather than help her son (esp if we consider that she married a rich guy).
It’s a cute comedy, so cute
