I wonder how much heavier/ psychological it will become from now on because ML snapped. So far even though the series touched on darker themes it was never depicted super explicitly. Not until the latest chapters. I keep thinking of how ML mentioned he’s restraining himself/ being considerate and juxtaposing that with the whiplash I got from some obsessive red/ black flags before. As of now I can’t tell if this is one of those stories or not (ie haven’t seen the impact the self-harm had on MC yet etc etc).
The man did just pull the most unorthodox suicide prevention move I’ve seen in a min… trying to guilt trip MC to become his reason to live because it’s quicker than waiting for MC to fall in love. I don’t think MC is suicidal, but ML appears to assume that he may become suicidal post-revenge. He is a very calculating man who always thinks in the long-term after all. Hmmm.

It’s comedic smut, but not quite pwp. I love the colour palette the artist chose for this manhwa, it gives off such a cozy vibe. I wonder if the colour palette gave the impression that it’s not gonna be as smutty as it is.
I agree that it’s not unproblematic. I also agree that in the end they were very fluffy. If you dislike forceful/ pushy characters you will struggle for the first 10-12 chapters.

It was not as cowboy-esque as I expected lmaoooo. They only showed like one or two horses.
Not a bad story overall, but it did feel like their relationship development was kind of non-existent. I agree with comments that point out how the pacing was somewhat off. They confessed and started dating five minutes ago and already introducing one another (well, at least the top) as each other’s most important person. Even if they secretly had mutual feelings for a long time it felt so abrupt. It jumped straight to u-hauling and the whole together forever spiel. The only reason it bothered me a bit was because this story is rather self-aware in every other respect.

If this was fun smut it would have been ok. But it’s just sex trafficking, sexual abuse, gaslighting and coercion. Somehow everything transitions into some weird dramatic fluff which doesn’t hit for me because of how it trivializes everything else I just mentioned.
Can’t connect with the seme at all. Didn’t care for his sob story (dude YOU are the trauma, uke’s trauma). It took you that long to realize you’re like the father you hate? Well ig he’s not as bad as the director who just exploits vulnerable people and coerces them into sex work under the guise of self-discovery or whatever the fucc. And speaking of which isn’t it fucced up that he’s watching his former fling’s/ former friend’s (?) SON have sex in front of him? What in the buffoonery is this… Oh well, you get a happy ending.
Honestly baffled this has such a high rating.

I'm crying you seem like to care about SA for Tastumi but you then call Yuki getting raped as a child and all that shit that happened to him just "a sob story" lol. also, we saw everything from Tastumi's POV and he never had any trauma (fortunately for him)so idk where u got that from?? tho I agree with what u said about the director guy lmao.

This is one of my top comfort reads. I always come back to it when I need a light read to recover emotionally. It’s so unbearably cute and wholesome. I still remember how I was over the fucken moon that they got married.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope they make a second season for the anime. Unlikely but still I hope. I think every adaptation of this is pretty good or at least ok. The eng dub version of the anime is ELITE. I need a deflowered and depowered t-shirt.
My only critique would probably be the uke from the second pairing, but whatever. I’m at peace with that.

Every interaction between the brothers made me tear up a bit. Their relationship made me so emotional. I actually cried when they got separated.
This was way better than I expected. When I started and the SA happened my expectations lowered dramatically (then again this is about the underworld and it’s in an omegaverse so what tf did I anticipate really, it fits the story setting). It did get much better. The comedy is pretty cute too. I can see myself going back for a reread.

They way they spoke to each other felt so organic and cute. Also everything is done with consent. There’s no SA or dubcon by anyone. Not much violence nor any gore either. Despite the hitman stuff it was a pretty relaxing read.
It got a bit weaker towards the middle-ish. Like the moment ML decided to be done with his job and then quit it seems like the author felt that the appeal of the story was gone. It evolved into pure fluff while leaving some glaring questions unanswered. If we get answers in the extras (will we get extras?), ok cool. But why not just include it in the main story. Feels incomplete man.
Why are some authors treating extras/ side stories like video game patches and dlcs to complete the story.
Spoilers ahead. I thought this was gonna be a cozy comfy story. Nothing dramatic. Like just two dudes living their best gay life in the countryside with a sprinkle of celeb life. That creepy stalker plot line caught me off guard. My jaw dropped when the arson/ attempted murder happened. I wish there was more about their life together as a couple!!!!! They’re so cute!!! I wanna see more of them being all lovey-dovey.
