I don't think Ashtarte is stupid as she drank the tea knowing there's something wrong but don't know exactly what's in it. It's Amaryllis who is more stupid to believe the poison wouldn't harm her just because she's a homunculus.
I don't see this as toxic like people says it is. From what I understand, before Ananse lost her memories, she was forced into this lifestyle by the Emperor and the only way she could escape from being his toy is by training slaves for him. She chose to be a cruel woman in hopes someone would have the gall to kill her as she can't seem to do it herself. With Solteo, I doubt she forgot when she first captured him but she couldn't drop her act until he finally killed her but still didn't let him know she remembers him.
Ananse is a woman who has lost everything and to lose the one last thing to control, she chose to be a villainess in hopes someone could end her suffering. Even Finn, one of her maidservants, even said she isn't they all say she is. Ananse was still kind but cannot show it to others. Now, she is technically dead and what's left behind is the innocent girl who is forcing herself to remain "normal" to not let anyone get suspicious of her.
In retrospect, Serena could just easily kill her mother and adoptive sister and quite literally get away with it. Let the father remarry to someone more worthy and won't treat her poorly like the mother is doing. At the very least, she is stupid and not abusive towards Serena.
This is one of the most enjoyable manhwas I have read. I adore the current FL and ML.
I do not like the OGs at all, the OGML looks like he got a stick up his ass while the OGFL is like a religious nut job that thinks God will save everyone. News flash, that is not how shit works.
I love how the current ML already figured how the original Giselle swapped her soul for another to take her place and yeeted herself out of the story. I'm pretty sure the ML already knew Giselle before the soul swap but the current Giselle doesn't seem to know at all because it's nothing like the story she has seemingly read. There is more to it than she realizes and that is interesting.
This is a rare gem where the father doesn't just dotes on the fl, he loves all of his children and shows it in different ways. It's only obvious when he shows his affection for Rosette while it's not so obvious for his sons but you can still see he doesn't neglect them unlike others where the fathers do neglect their kids in favor of the fl.
I also love Kian and find him cool and quite cute (and hot when he shows his older form). He fits well with Rosette, he deserves her after being lonely for so long.
Is this worth reading? I saw a lot of ppl comment that it’s a fucked up story and the characters aren’t the smartest, but the art looks nice from a few glances
I love how His Holiness doesn't understand nor would be his business on why the Ashtarte and Ruin are so close.
They are each other's rock, they complete each other because of the hardships they went through as children. Sharing similar pain of loneliness but with different reasons and outcomes. His Holiness doesn't understand nor can he see, he stands no chance. It's pitiful that he takes the 2nd Male Lead spot when Rion will be the one who takes Ashtarte's heart.
This ML is giving me mixed singles. It's obvious, painfully so, that he loves her or at least beginning to love her. He just doesn't realize it and yet he knows he can't let her go.
This man, while I can see his view point, but dude- Fay is going to be the most loyal woman for only you! Sure, she is naive and simple, but what can you expect when you have been abandoned and treated as a replacement for death? She doesn't know any better but she does knowing slowly she is beginning to grow feelings for him. Attachment feelings sense he gave her the love and attention she was seeking for...
Overall, I am able to ship these two. They look so cute together.
My heart goes out to Ixion, I just wanna hug him. I understand why he's acting the way he did towards the FL, he doesn't want to get hurt. It doesn't excuse him from hurting her just as bad, if not worst. Even after that, she still wants to get along with him and he is slowly seeing she isn't like the rest who are afraid of him. She genuinely finds her brother cool and beautiful.
My heart is absolutely breaking for Fay. She hasn't been loved by anyone after her mother died. The only ones who helps her is the animals. I would hold Fay close to me, she needs to be loved and protected.
It isn't her fault she doesn't know how to be a person, she was abandoned and raised like an animal, clean though at least.
This may be similar to "Into the Light Once Again" but I have seen some differences compared to that story. It's interesting enough for me to keep reading thanks to the small differences.
I understand why Cecil doesn't want to expose herself even though she wanted to help the child by any means necessary.
I love this now that I can understand what is going on. The art may not be the best but it's decent enough for me to like it.
I love Cecil and Killian. I hope they reunite soon!
So far, only two out of five in the Imperial Family are good for Fleta, even if MC is being a bit of hypocrite, she did and does care for the child more than anyone. And if we add the Duke, that would make three out of six altogether as it didn't seem like he hated the child at all when he met her.
Everyone one else is just ew, well we don't know about the Empress and how she feels towards the girl in this timeline. The first princess is just awful, first obviously jealousy towards her younger sister for being the most loved, MC had no control over that. Second being, the first princess abused a fucking child. Regardless of the child is said to be cursed, that is still a CHILD. What harm can a child like Fleta do?
Oh wait, the future the MC returned from. That is the answer if you fuck around and find out.
In this case, it's alright to be uncertain for certain things even after communicating something is wrong. It took so much reassurance and patience in Rouche to help Seria calm down and finally accept him.
OG FL can go fuck herself for all I care. Seria was just trying to live her life with the sec ml but NO. She just had to take him from her and Rouche stepped up to the plate and changed the novel greater than Seria did. She deserves the ml more than OG FL did.
I believe the only one who truly cared about Ashtarte family-wise was Noah. After reading this and understanding how each character worked, Noah, before everyone else in the palace, knew she was good and tried in his own way, to take care of her. Ashtarte just so happened to hear him say something that he didn't really mean and misunderstood him all this time. You can see his genuine pained reaction when he didn't get a chance to explain.
Now, I understand why Ashtarte reacted the way she did, however Noah could have been her ally and on her side from the start, a family member to love and cherish her without question. I hope those two can truly be closer. I'm still iffy about the oldest brother and father.

Now, I understand in some stories when an adult enters a child's body, it's weird for them to either act too mature (to the point it's very weird that a child is too adult-like and not that "I was forced to grow up too soon" mentality) or too childish (to the point that makes them look unnecessarily weak), but in this story... I feel like it would be okay for her to regrow as a child despite having an adult soul and mentality. She grew up poorly in both lives and now that she managed to escape from her current family... Arwyn should be allowed to experience her second chance at youth and not have to worry about money. Of course, she wouldn't want anything expensive but she also doesn't technically have to be frugal since Shelly's family loves her so much that they are willing to give her anything.
This is mind blowing. She possessed her twin sister's dying body three years after her own death. Not only that, her biological father was the same and she still ended up without him but luckily had her uncle raise her to be her father.
Makes me wonder what happened to the og Elfredia. I hope she either rests well knowing her sister will fix everything that went wrong or she is also granted the same possession ability as Ludia.
At times, even if you know that you are a reincarnated being and you know well enough that you are going through a shitty time, it's best to act pitiful and take the abuse in order to get them away faster rather than standing up for yourself. Especially when you are at a vulnerable age like the fl. Plus, she hasn't even mentioned, at least to my knowledge, who she (the character she was reincarnated into) was in the novel. For all we know, she was just an extra who doesn't get mentioned at all, she just has the knowledge of the novel and already changed a considerable amount out of it.
