So after reading Heaven Official’s Blessing and this manhua, is the novel for this more romantic/contain more romantic scenes? The romance in HOB was very well meshed w fight scenes but here it’s kinda random and sparse. Makes it feel kinda lacking in the romantic department :’(( and i can’t tell when wei wuxian started liking hanguang, it didn’t seem evident till he became the little soul paper cutting and “kissed” hanguang
Oh HOB is most definitely much more romantic. MDZS is much more political and plot heavy as compared to the romance. If you’re here just for the romance, then you’ll have to wait…WWX doesn’t even know that LWJ likes him until his second life! On top of that, he doesn’t even realise that he likes LWJ!! It most likely seems random and sparse because the timeline is constantly being switched between present and past. All the romance will start appearing in the later half of the story (after all the flashbacks have ended)
Ikr. Stan LXC for telling WWX about LWJ's feelings. Actually they love each other but ignores it. For LWJ's perspective it is okay as long WWX is by his side while WWX loves LWJ but cannot confess because he knows that he will be rejected. Since LWJ is like an angel lmao. Both of them are idiots, pining each to each other knowing they love each other. If it wasn't for LXC then the ship would never sail and follow the CQL timeline LMAO.

This story has such a interesting and fleshed out plot, the art is beautiful too, i can’t believe the ratings aren’t higher
I rlly dislike that they make nearly all the characters that are “evil,” “bad,” or annoying as “ugly”. It seems to be a common theme and doesn’t leave room for surprises, and can send the wrong msg—like “if ur ugly, ur inherently bad.” And the portrayal of what’s ugly is small eyes, big or hooked noses and having moles on ur face…? Idk if im reading to into it but i just wanted to share my thoughts.

Yea, attractive villains r easier for the audience to empathize w if they have a tragic backstory (ppl tend to give attractive individuals the benefit of the doubt—happens in rl too in the US court systems). These smaller characters tho could still make the same impact on the story even if their looks were more neutral
