You guys made a mistake and it’s been a week now. Don’t beat yourselves up too much. And mangago rarely takes chapters down so it’s pointless to ask them. I think as long as the misunderstanding is sorted out between you and hero scans, you don’t need to keep apologising to people on here since I bet most of them won’t even know what’s happening. Just stop stressing about it and let the new group release their chapters

Also please stop arguing over the ethics of scanlation. We get it. You’re wasting your own time and energy when you fight with people on a site such as this.

Oh, to do that you get ALL the readers to report the manga. I think it happened with Dear Door, where people started to spam in the comments in alerting other readers how the chapter was uploaded without authorization. We managed to get rid of 5-6 chapters from Toxic Scans who, as their name says, were toxic as hell.

That's a lot of work, I know, but that's the only way I've seen chapters be deleted.

Thank you for this wonderful idea, it’s so chaotic (in a good way) and I could see this working. There was a point where every other comment was calling us out, BUT fortunately the dust has settled so I don’t think we’ll have enough people... Mangago is just infuriating.

Don’t worry though. We still will have it removed when it’s overwritten by “official” scans hopefully within this week. Ty again.

Another Mini Update: Because of complications with Mangago, we are hoping Cross the Oceans Scans (the group now in charge of the English translations) can post their version and OVERRIDE ours. Like I said, I’m trying my best to get our version deleted. Hopefully this happens soon. Stay tuned for updates!!

I mean if they rarely take it down even when the original authors start filing DMCA, what are the chances they’ll listen to a tiny squeak in the middle of their website when so much content is uploaded to their site daily? Especially when this new chapter is being so well received by readers lol

@04zyrx yup! I was told this by Hero Scans about that being more effective just as you wrote that message.

@Chou and that is why we’re hoping the replacement method could help us solve the issue instead. I am impressed by your dedication to this debacle.

Mini update: Instead of a report, I just emailed Mangago AND Posted on their message board. Trust me, this thing is hopefully going down sooner or later.

Of course! If you’re not familiar with Scanlation Groups it is people who take a manga and provide a translated version of the story.

Hero Scans has been in charge of THIS series since it’s debut, but recently my team added another chapter without properly getting the blessings of Hero Scans (my email never got to them). Once published, the result they decided to “drop” the series (as announced on their Tumblr page) and many were upset.

We messaged them about the mix up, and are currently trying to get them to claim the series again while we wait for Mangago to REMOVE our update.

As for Qvfamma, they are a Spanish Scanlation group who got mixed in the middle of this. They too decided to drop the series due to the repeated use of their pages throughout the months, but we are trying our best to reach them and tell them that we're backing down from the project and the Spanish community shouldn’t be affected.

This update here is to let everyone know that we’re actively trying to correct our error. Hope this helps.

We are well aware our errors. The pages used for the initial chapter you see here came from Qvfamma, yes. The following chapters (2-5) were going to come from a Renta anthology (as they were found recently) but that is no longer happening. Hope this answers your question.

Hi there, thank you for stepping out. Just wondering why you guys didn’t discuss with Hero Scans before making this move? Another manga I followed (Jujin Omegaverse Remnant) had a very slow scanlation group so someone decided to pick it up. BUT they let the original group know their intention, and respect the group’s request to leave out the chapter they were working on. That’s how it should have been done. You only have yourselves to blame for this mess :/

Contrary to popular belief, we actually DID try to contact them 2 weeks before we pursued this. We’re already discussing this with Hero Scans.

We all appreciate your intentions so don't take what the anon below said to heart. I think your translations were just fine, only a bit of miscommunication.

I appreciate the support, but there’s truth to every argument. This is a case HUGE miscommunications and we are working to correct it.

And the reason why you didn’t wait for the discussion to finish? I may sound unreasonable to you, because as a reader benefiting off scanlation groups like Hero scans, it’s natural that I support them and their interests (because why not?). I have no issue over transferring project into a group that can handle it better, I just can’t justify how you and your group chose to ignore everyone and proceed as you like. A more transparent transition would have hugely benefited how your group is accepted.

You’re speaking purely on assumptions right now, you do realize this. I’m assuming what you want is for us to “explain ourselves” but to be frank I don’t feel compelled to. You play no part in this.

a few questions:

1) are you using your own raws or someone else's? the vague intro page saying you're "inspired" by qvfamma's translations isn't very helpful in light of past snipers just google translating over that group's scans - would be nice to know whether we can expect qvfamma will also drop the series in light of this or not.
2) do you have any way for readers to contact you besides some burner mangago account that may or may not be responsible for these uploads? i notice no socials, no websites, no discord, which is convenient for you if you decide to disappear after getting bored, but leaves readers here up shit creek without a paddle if you do decide to dip, huh?
3) did you bother to wait for hero scans to respond to your messages? you say you're in "cahoots" with them but have avoided answering whether they responded to your messages i've noticed....
4) do you plan to get all the extras from each place that releases them? hero scans was kind enough to release all tokuten content, which qvfamma doesn't do jic you were hoping to work off of their translation without permission like others have in the past (and no, the jp r/enta volume release you keep linking won't contain all that extra content). in addition, do you also plan to release the second kuroji and harutsugu chapter that was released? that is also only in paperback copy rn until the volume releases - which could be a few more months, meaning you'll also have to put up with the same barrage of readers begging for updates every day - or, you would, if you'd bothered to link yourselves to the project in any concrete way.
5) what will do you if/when megutsugu gets licensed in english? futekiya has been asking for those rights recently after all.

i ask all the questions i did above not to scare you or drag you either; in the end, i do buy the raws for myself and am more hopeful for that official licensing than i am hopeful about any scanlation group finishing this, so no skin off my back if you do or don't follow through. but frankly, it was naive of you to assume there wouldn't be backlash from you sniping a more reliable, credentialed scanlation group's work (which it seems you did because you keep avoiding giving details about how this """transition" has worked) and this kind of response to people pushing back doesn't inspire hope that you'll deal any better with the pressure of releasing a very popular series than hero scans did. to everyone here who doesn't buy officially: good luck lmao, i hope whining about how "sniping isn't a big deal bc we're all here reading illegally XD" works out for you.

How about you get together with Hero Scans and help them? Maybe buy your own digital copy but use their translation or something like that. Because the waiting time for these chapters is always really long and as long as that is the case people will snitch... as this is one of the most popular BL mangas right now. So only way to resolve the snitching issue is faster uploads which means Hero Scans needs help. Your cleaning was really good and hq so I think that would work out just fine
