Manga are so cliche. Like I genuinely can't take the writing. I liked this GL because it is very cute and I thought I would give a Japanese comic a try but I literally can't. They're high school students, so they're not gonna be flustered because their partner who they already are accustomed to seeing comes near them. But they also aren't old enough to be sexualized to such a degree that they are. No one licks people's necks and explains the fucking flavor, and people don't stick out their tongues to kiss like they do in Japanese lesbian porn. Like bruh. Wet dreams happen and sex does happen to, but the author tried to put "sexy things" in the manga, for the sake of having panels of the characters saying "smooth" lines, but it just cliche and doesn't work. If the characters looked a bit older I could understand some of the scenes, but the characters look borderline shotacon. You can tell the author is a virgin just by reading this shit.
It's so annoying that y'all "can't see Yacchan as a top." Y'all aren't allies at all. Y'all just like reading gay shit. Tops and bottoms do not all look the same or fit into specific categories appearance-wise, particularly in real life. You can be an effeminate top and you can be a more masc bottom and vice versa. Not to mention that verses exist. Not all twinks are bottoms. And just because Toono looks slightly more masc, doesn't mean shit because they both classify as twinks tbh. Stop spouting your weird-ass prejudices. You look dumb.
I feel like Yaoi and straight stories get so much less flack for having toxic relationships, but when its in a Yuri, everyone is concerned. At least in this manhwa, their relationship is not romanticized and is clearly depicted as unhealthy. What I don't like is that Heejung and Jina are constantly being depicted as having a mother-daughter relationship when their relationship is very sexual. That's the actual gross part and no one is talking about it.
The Bomi x Moonsung and Hobin x Taehoon parallel is making me both happy and sad, but I'm super excited to see how they respond to the current situation, especially in person. It almost reminds me of the side (canon?) "love triangle" between Daniel, Jay, and Zoey in Lookism. I love the fighting aspects of both shows, but the romance/drama mixed in is super entertaining as well. Note: I like Bomi. I think she has the tiniest bit of entitlement but I feel like she genuinely has a good heart.
Firstly, Jenson is super selfish as a person. How are you going to limit your own sexuality KNOWINGLY, but then prevent your male friend from dating because you can't admit your attraction to him. That's so fucked up. Secondly, this manhua had no underlying plot for the most part, but there could've been one that was parallel to the mini-plots occurring in the story. Their chemistry still felt like a bromance and the boys seemed to be very much straight, and even spouting homophobic rhetoric sometimes. They just did zesty things every now and then, but there wasn't a clear sign of them liking one another at all. For them to confess so suddenly (TO EACH OTHER AT THE SAME TIME) when there was no real buildup is so, so dumb.
