I'm a wolf fan so I'm low-key cheering for the two, but I think it's better for Cion to be free bcs he's too young and that's what the FL trying to do, to set him free slowly bcs he's too dependent with her. They might be mentally adult, but their world is still different from what they used to. Specially, their current world uses magic and they don't know that much abt their own family background. Also they are having hard time to trust people, just remember how traumatized they are at the past 5 years with their own mother's hand and the feeling of being neglected by their family members. Even adults can suffer from mental trauma. It takes time to heal mental wounds. It won't go away after just a day, week, or even months. They just all don't know (from father to child) how to handle their issues. That's why there's a miscommunication between them. (￣∇￣")
