I have been trying to find this anime for more than 10 years now, I've searched the internet countlessly and I even have a vivid description of how it goes but I still couldn't find it.
It started off somewhere with many children going inside a time capsule/pod and they are intended to be the only humanity to survive in the future because some sort of an invasion is happening? And the adults wanted to protect the children and thus why a big facility was set up to store all these children for the future. And then they were capsulated indefinitely until the plot started where the capsules started opening and some of the children got out. The facility at that time are worn down/abandoned cuz the adults died due to monsters. And the children who woke up/survived started mapping and making their way out of the facility.
Theres a monster with no eyes but extremely sensitive to sound (like the one in A Quiet Place). From here on, my memories failed me but the ending showed some sort of a destruction happening? Thats all I could recall vividly SOMEONE HELP IF YOU HAD EVER SEEN THIS ANIME. I was 8 or 9 when I first watched it. Im 20 now☠
In the Korean ver, it translates to 'mental age' which is referring to the persona's lack of opportunity to mature mentally aka is innocence and naive. Also mental age≠physical age. The prev translation: 'literal child' was definitely an error cuz, to make a point, you can be 60 with a mental age of a 15 year old again.
