BRETT'S REFUSAL TO COMFORT IS SO HEART WRENCHING. When hayden went to console him, he pushed him back almost immediately. Him telling hayden he couldn't call him if he got into a crash because he'd want a more "rational" solution rather than calling a person for comfort. Hayden telling him how he's the one retreating into his cave because he's the one denying the genuine romance that could come from their relationship. Really shows how he was raised.
Also the bird scene with the ink dripping over him was so excellent & the call back to the previous chapters IS SOOO GOOD I LOVE THIS STORY OH MY GOD THE RAW EMOTIONS FROM BOTH THESE CHARACTERS MAKE ME FSCHDCHSJG SEASON 3 CANT COME SOONER

I didn't think this story was that serious, like I knew the "betrayal" was gonna happen but I didn't think it would be too deep. But OHMYGAWDDD i am feeling all the heavy emotions and angst with these two and their independent characters. I think the author did a good job on making an event that didn't seem too serious feel like it actually did matter and affect the characters deeply.
