Uhh no. I think you misread the ending. The ml didn’t die they just pretended that he did and he lives Now in the lost villa. The vampire boy even came to visit him there. So it was a happy ending.

idk from my point of view the blue-eyed one (sorry i dont remember the names lmao) died bcs of that shitty ass plan to deflect the bullet, so the vampire died eventually because of the global heating (if i remember correctly) and they both met up in paradise

No. You got it all wrong, it wasn’t a shitty plan. Here an explanation from an User in the comments:
It clearly shows that he put the metal in his shirt and told shell to shoot him there so the bullet didn’t kill him. He pretended to be the bad guy to prevent a war between the humans and the vampires. Him “dying” prevented the war.
You even can see how the vampire boy moves into his carriage to ride out of the city to visit his boy. The ending isn’t open and it doesn’t allow people to have a view of their own because they live and didn’t die. I think you and many other people just didn’t think much when they read it and got confused.
