Art was exceptional had to stop and just look at some of the panels because it was so mesmerising and beautiful

I came in thinking it was a traditional sports manga but how wrong was I although the plot changes in big ways a lot with tone changing within different volumes it really gets introspective going into the Moris mentality and why he climbs perfectly helping show the harsh reality of climbing making the the deaths in the series feel impactful along with showing how small humans are in the grand scheme of things and showing the dangers and challenges of the mountains along with the fulfilling nature of climbing them.

Although the main character is exceptionally well written the side cast is underwhelming but this is Moris story so I can’t complain much.




Interpretation for ending /my opinion

Mori climbing partner is like Icarus flying to close to the sun by trying to climb K2 solo and thus paying his arrogance in his death with his final pose looking like one of repentance while Mori does finish the summit he payed the price with his body no longer able to climb like he used to now struggling to climb a mountain most could although he still finds enjoyment in climbing although at a smaller scale and now climbing is not all he cares for as he has a wife and 2 kids as shown in the end as Mori is not alone as he was in the start of the manga.

(won’t lie did not understand the ending when I first read this ╮(￣▽￣)╭)

This is just my opinion and just wanted to talk about this piece although I know not everyone will enjoy this as much as me

9/10 exceptional what a insightful description of the protagonist thought process making me crave for the fulfilment the main character feels climbing even with its flaws.

Was really good at the beginning but the way female characters and sex are portrayed is disgusting/unbearable at some points for me really putting me off but I continued reading and I feel like it was missed potential for a otherwise really good series





Spoilers for end and my thoughts on it


I feel like the end is left for interpretation for any point of view but my interpretation is I think he killed his partner in the transpiration (although his delusions believe otherwise ) and went into hiding explaining his slow descent into madness with all the holes in his head and why his in a remote place with the police arresting him in the end with the doctor apologising at the end mostly likely being the person that called police and I believe the main character only finds peace in his madness explaining his happiness when greeting the police officers at the end.

That’s what I have to say regarding this manga
7.5/10 wasted potential in my opinion
