each time I read it, the crepe prank never fails to make me laugh (≧∀≦)

    Fujoshi Lover June 2, 2018 7:36 am

I wonder if that prank would work where you live ? You from France right? I dont know why but from what I read in yaoi it seems that in Japan man are "forbidden" to like sweet stuff its kinda weird. Here in Brazil if a guy eats something sweet nobody cares lol its just normal.

    All-deja-vu June 2, 2018 3:42 pm

ahah, right, in France it's also normal for men to eat sweet. Everybody is out when there is a discount on he Nutella, here.
I'm sad for these japanese guys who are forced to simulate the disgust face each time they eat a micro bit of sweet, as if it was a threat for their manliness. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that all their sweet things are made to please the eyes of girls, with a lot of kawaii stuff, I don't know.

    Fujoshi Lover June 2, 2018 4:18 pm

HAHAHA I know what you talking about I actually saw in the news that a discount on Nutella caused chaos in a supermarket in france earlier this year LOL. People love nutella here in Brazil too but not to that extend tho XD

    All-deja-vu June 2, 2018 8:25 pm

great, we finally talk about our poor people somewhere x) even french media never talk about them. I see, the Nutella case was finally a "coup d'Etat" from the modern commoners!
and you know what's even more funny? : the French legislation is (still) debating about a prohibition on drastic discounts because of that event....it's their way to solve problems ^^

All-deja-vu February 10, 2018 6:47 pm

I really don't understand the drama operating machine among some readers.

In this story, besides looking really young, the uke is mentally as evolved as a 10 y.old. And, the older guy is excited for same reasons as pedophiles, isn"t he?
How come -5-nin no Ou-, which happens in a context far from our fortunate reality with a uke mentally adult, is virulently exposed as a shota, compared to this story?!

no need to bark at me with the usual "stop reading if it's for complaining!", I don't care about what stories can show...but I do care about schizophrenia in judgement.

    Spooky February 10, 2018 6:56 pm

I know what you mean. That’s just how some yaois are tho idk. It’s weird

    artmagus February 10, 2018 7:35 pm

i would guess because even though he is behaving like a child he is considered adult , and 5-nin no Ou its exactly the opposite. Behaving like a child being so stupid as a 10 year old as you say it is still not the same as being a child... anyway i haven't read either manga extensively so if anyone else have some insight they would be more helpful

    None February 11, 2018 12:17 am

He is an engineering college student, how come he is mentally 10? Engineering students are smart but some are really inexperienced when it comes to love. And this one is just a virgin. I think irl you won’t find someone like him easily but he is not mentally 10, he is an innocent guy that’s all.

    BanChan February 11, 2018 3:06 am

Well what's wrong with having the mentality of a 10 year old? It's about having good character, and he does have good character. So I don't see much wrong with it. And there are all sorts of guys. So yeah.

    honeycoquette February 11, 2018 3:19 am

I think a key component a lot of people like you miss is that dating isn't something you do in middle/high school in South Korea. So yes, we will see a lot of emotionally immature characters that can't express themselves or struggle trying to do so, can't see red flags which is something acquired through experience. So yeah, he won't know how to move through a relationship without hitting all the bumps and roadblocks. He does have the dating sense of a child in a Western country. Over here kids watch porn and date in middle school.

I'm not saying all manhwa are realistic but some aspects about the culture of the author should be taken into account.

    Anonymous February 11, 2018 5:54 am

Dude, seriously stop quoting pedophile's apologetic arguments and realize you're forgetting something here: for a person to be considered grown up and mature it's not enough that they become wiser as a result of having lived and learned through certain life experiences, it also means organic development of the brain, which is not completed until AFTER people's teenage years... Look up frontal lobe development: teenagers' brains still have a long way to go before they become like an adult's. This means, that just because some kids seem to mature faster than others doesn't mean they are... Sure, every kid is different because they all go through different experiences but what can be generalized is that the organic development of most kids' brains which is not completed until after a certain age... Which means, that even if the teenage version of a certain person seems as emtionally mature than the adult version of another person, that does not mean that both of them are completely on equal terms: the brain of the first one is still developing, while the other's brain is already fully developed. That is why even if the teen looks like a little Einstein, while the adult looks as smart and mature as Paris Hilton, the law still protects the teen as a minor while it holds the adult accountable for their acts.

Another thing: 5 nin no Ou" has rape and sexual explotation from the first chapter, while there's no such thing here in this manhwa/webtoon as of yet. Age issues aside, the Blue King does rape the mc in the first chapter in that other story, and even if the mc had been an adult, that still would've been rape. Here in "Alice in Adultland" everything has been consensual so far. Neither age nor consent are a real issue here, meaning this story has two points in favour over the other one. Maybe that's why some people prefer this one story.

    Levi ACkerman February 11, 2018 8:05 am

I am sorry but there is nothing wrong with having a 10 years mentality in asia half of our lifes go in studying or jobs leaving very few time for these activities here especially engineering kids r sooo innocent like they know what is sex just like this character but don't know about things like adult toys or dirty words hence they r innocent and if they marry a girl who knows all the dirty words etc u won't call her a pedo would u??

Because they also criticised other people's opinion... They criticised people who like this story but disliked another story with rape and shota story called "5 nin no Ou", by trying to make a far-fetched argument. If they criticise people, it obviously opens the door to criticise this person's opinion too.

I agree with your argurment concerning brain's development, but for me it doesn't change the fact that the seme of this story seems stronlgy attracted by "innocence" and manipulates a childish uke in order to satisfy his pervert thoughts while the uke expects something else than sex (for me it is consensual just because of the way the uke is induced to want sex). In 5 nin no Ou, even if it isn't consensual at all, the uke don't accept his situation and he even fell in love with an other guy.
If Alice in Adultland is considered appropriate, then so is 5 nin no Ou, it's what I wanted to convey, none of these stories are "promoting" child rape and none of them should be censored.

I was aware of this fact, we could say the same in 5 nin no Ou and its historico-fantasy context, since it does not portray our reality but a time where child slavery is common.
I wasn't really criticising this story but more the gap of acceptance between the 2 stories (I know it wasn't really clear in my comment, I'm sorry, and thank you for your help!)

I suppose I agree with you, yeah I wouldn't call someone a pedo just because his lover lacks of experience....unless the experienced lover uses of manipulation to have his way with his younger lover, like in this story. But maybe I imagine things about the seme, I don't know anymore, you disturbed me ^^
And I want to make clear something : I didn't say it was wrong to be mentally young, though it really gives me the chills when I see people being attrected by chillike people, it's an other matter x) I just wanted to focus on 5 nin no Ou haters.

I immediatly knew the handsome guy hasn't really a french friend named Alfred 'cause there is no Alfred in France since long ago!! nobody would name his son with such a rake name! maybe he was simulating alone on the phone ahah!!

    Gramophone April 9, 2017 12:46 am

I would. My son will piss me off during 9 months and I should give him a cool name? No way, his name will be Alfred.

AHAHAH tu m'as tuée!and, if you had a girl, how would you name your daughter? (please tell me, I'm prepared!) catattack's

    The worst name ever, Clitorine.
(truth be told, I like Alfred and old names, if it's a boy I would probably name him Gilbert or Léandre)

    catattack's April 23, 2017 11:29 pm

Gramophone thank you so much for your response (sorry I was on a trip).
As I thought you met my expectations!

I totally agree about 'Clitorine', it's reallly a weird name or maybe a legend. You won't believe me but actually I prefer that name rather than 'Prune' (EXCEPT if it's actually your name, in that case Prune is really a pretty name!! =x)

I think in another word, I would have called my son Attila! I can't help but love this badass name, on top of that it would be so perfect if the boy was a shy crybaby xD.

'Leandre' is really a beautiful name, that remind me of 'Lysandre', it inspires me medieval times and maybe....la Bretagne (O_o), or I don't know.... and nobody has stained that name! It's a different matter with 'Gilbert',I'm unable to not think about Montagné.

Oh my- WHO TOLD YOU MY NAME? Just kidding, it's not Prune lol, my parents were fan of Serge Gainsbourg so...
Why not? Attila is a pretty cool name. I know an Orpheus, they could be friends x)
Gilbert is a character from Pandora Hearts (not a yaoi but I really love it, except for the end and the fact that the mangaka killed all my favorite characters). And my parents used to live near a monument named "la tour de Léandre" in french.
