See this was more censored and empathetic towards Cesare than in the novel. I don't remember the backflashes or any deal that Cesare had made to keep Ruby out of the orphanage. Moreover, I remember it being much more...brutal. Like the other commenter said before. By the end Ruby was covered in shards of glass and couldn't see because of the blood from the glass wounds on her face. Which again is pretty triggering and was very violent so I understand censorship in that area, but it really shuts Freya up and the rest of them too because they understand finally. Not that what he did wasn't also terrible in the manhwa version. I think I'm just really confused by the flashbacks, that's a little.....idk vibe a bit different. Cesare kind of shows his true colors and his jealousy and it is much worse than depicted here.
