She is quite a reasonable person really.

The problem is that it’s a situation that she cannot control. She is supposed to be the highest ranking woman on the duchy and just in a few days a random woman with a lower status than her sweeps in and makes things unstable. The MC is a threat just by existing, since the emperor could use her to tarnish their reputation and weaken them. Even if you might think that the MC being direct with her and telling her she just wants to chill is the best option, the duchess won’t take it at face value.

But like she didn't even have a choice!! Girl was sold off to a bastard of a husband(who killed three or four of his past wives already!!!) like girl you think she would want to be in this situation rn?!?

:3 yeah but honestly it’d be easier for her to accept the MC if she was dumb and manipulateable. but her being smart and mature makes her less unpredictable to the daughter-in-law who’s supposed to be older and more educated than her, so she can’t really let her guard down, but also it would be great if everyone could just get along so we could focus on MC being great lol

She has seen the 'throne horror' and is under the current emperor's thumb. So it's actually understandable why she's acting this way. If she's too soft to the new wife of his father-in-law, who knows what tricks or plans the new MIL has? The MIL could be influenced by the royal family & could potential harmed her or the entire duchy. She needs to be cautious 24/7

It’s not even misunderstandings. It’s lies being revealed after being hidden for so long and it’s ash not setting clear distinct boundaries. I know he didn’t start this but if he were previously bonded, that’s something to disclose. Same way he would have disclosed a child from a previous relationship, he needs to disclose that he literally tied his life to someone else’s. Lyle has every right to feel and react the way he is.

yeah ash needs to get his shit together,,, honestly he should have done something (told lyle what actually happened) when their friends were going around gossiping about his relationship with his ex. so i get why lyle feels that way, anyone else in his situation would feel that way too

No ur just slow. Lyle overheard people gossiping and they said “werent they bonded” but they just HEARD that they were bonded, and lyle heard them gossip about it. So i repeat he didnt disclose it because it didnt happen it was a fake rumour why would he need to tell lyle about something that aint happen? Lets think

First of all, drop the attitude. No one was rude to you so stop acting like a toddler throwing a tantrum because things aren’t going your way. Second of all, the story so far is leading us and lyle to believe that ash failed to disclose that he had a mate bond. That’s undisputed and if you want to dispute that, take that up with the author. Third of all, all rumours have a place of origin. Everywhere you see smoke, there’s a fire. Even if he wasn’t mated to the person, he was close enough to said person that other people thought that he was. That’s still something to discuss to the man you invite to live in your home with you and share each and every morning and night with. And finally, before you even think to bring up how unreliable gossip is, let me just say that gossip has kept people (more specifically housewives) alive and safe for centuries at the very least and will continue to do so. It has helped people see warning signs before something tragic happens. Yes, no one should base their entire perception of a person based on gossip and rumours but ash is no saint and his previous attitude towards Lyle was nothing less than cruel and wrong. Feeling upset that you don’t know the man who invited you to join him in his home and feeling upset that your partner failed to disclose such a huge life event is normal behaviour. Mated bond or not, Lyle is perfectly within his rights to be upset and need space to process. In fact, marriage counsellors also advise space when one partner is struggling to process information about the other partner because you can make up lost time but you can never take back words and actions said and done.
