Its not unrealistic :) i have a distant relative, their 2 older brothers are gay and their younger sister is lesbian. Im not even kidding. And all of our distant family members accept them wholeheartedly.
I'm low key kinda dead but that's good I guess if they grow up in an environment where any kind of love is okay they're likely more of a chance

Just because it's your favourite doesnt mean they don't have to die. Sometimes it's better for authors to just kill them so they'll maintain their image. Because the longer the time they're kept alive the more chance the author will fuck up that character. I'm tallking about any manga or novel here.
