The ending is apparently a good one, so Raymond probably lives, from what people have been saying about the ending being “good”...
But if I didn’t know about this, I would predict Raymond to die. This has hints of a tragedy brewing. Probably not Raymond, but someone else will die here. The atmosphere is too tense, especially on the rebellion side, for this to have a peaceful resolution.
Edit: so apparently the series ends next chapter... never mind lmaooo all this brainstorming for nothing

How do people like this ending. Eren gave little to no explanation to the reason for the rumbling, became a Mikasa simp overnight with no foreshadowing to his true feelings, paths worm wasn’t explained at all, Ymir vanishes completely, and Ymir was apparently in love with her abuser for 2000 years? Why is this ok? How can anyone be ok with this? I love AOT with all my heart but this ending left much to be desired. How to destroy one of the best main characters in fiction 101. Eren completely changed personality in this chapter with no foreshadowing or explanation given.
Edit: not only that, how can you have Eren accept that Paradis will only be at peace if the rest of the world is killed off, but then now he’s ok with only 20% of the population left? And now the small island of Paradis, the 1% of the world, has no Titan powers and only their primitive technology to protect them from the rest of the 19% left? How does that make any sense? The rest of the world can’t just be like “even though they killed off everyone we love we won’t go to war with Paradis” that is a foolish assumption, and a huge plot hole that hasn’t been addressed. How is everyone so happy and ok with it? Why would Eren be ok with not accomplishing his goal in the first place? Did his search for “freedom” not mean anything? And killing Carla wasn’t essential to the plot.. like why was that plot twist even included...
If I get any hate, let me just say this: AOT is my favorite series of all time. I absolutely love this story. But the way these characters were handled in the end.. it breaks my heart. How can it be ok to send a message that being in love with your abuser was ok. What was the point of Eren being in love with Mikasa even though he treated her like s$&t the entire series. What was the point of him wanting freedom... his personality change was completely out of left field... Historia’s pregnancy was teased so much, her POV was never given, and it ends up having no significance to the story whatsoever... I love this story, I do. But what a mess and disappointment this chapter was. At least Eren is dead and at peace, which is the only good thing I found about this ending.
Me too. I know that people have mixed feelings over it... but as you said, it’s done. Isayama is a wonderful writer, and AOT still remains my favorite series. I’m glad he will be able to rest after more than a decade of writing and drawing this series... and open up his own onsen as he plans. Thank you for reading my little rant.
But eren didnt turn into a simp now...we know he had feelings for her since they were kids but since the whole "titans attacked our hometown" happened, and then when things got better he kissed historia's hand and found out some gruesome things he couldnt act like a fucking teenager in love. He had the power everybody wanted and the decision to kill the whole world or whatever was his, no matter how many ppl he had supporting him (I feel like that episode where he s in the forest and titan annie is running to get him and she s killing everybody, but levi tells him to not transform but at the same time tells him its his choice left him traumatized)
@weebsama, when was it implied he had feelings for her when they were younger? All I could see from that is him wrapping the scarf around her, but that’s vague. Even in the military, when they were recruits, Eren would constantly argue with Mikasa, telling her he’s not a kid, etc etc... we knew Mikasa was in love with Eren at the time, but Eren never showed any kind of response. Even before the titan attack, Eren argued with Mikasa over the survey corps, and paid no mind to her opinions. Idk :( if that was really the case, I wish it would’ve been clearer, because as it is Eren’s confession that he loved Mikasa seemed really out of nowhere. I’m not trying to argue or anything I am just trying to explain how I saw it at least.
tbh i agree w the plot hole, what eren essentially did, did not solve the prob but delay it. eventually other countries would take their revenge on paradise island. i was also shocked that eren had feeling for mikasa since when tho.. i always thought he liked historia.. or isit just me? anyw i also didnt understand why historia has to get pregnant? did she even love the guy she had her child w? the ending was pretty confusing tbh
it didnt rub me the wrong way its just that everybody is calling him a simp now even tho it was kinda clear that they re endgame. I just see him as someone that prioritized getting to the bottom of things instead of his own feelings. The only moment u see him as a teenager is when he tells everybody that theyre important to him and u can see him looking directly at mikasa and that time when they are all in marley and he asks her what he is to her (both of those moments were when they had somewhat of a peaceful life, still hopeful.
This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen (≧∀≦)
