The Uke of this story is the Phoenix, like he was never entirely human to begin with. The mystery of his origins revolve around the fact that he's an orphan. Never knew who his real parents are. So, of course he doesn't understand his whole biological genetic makeup. No one taught him he was the Phoenix.
